Government College, Nalwa is a public funded college located on Hisar-Tosham road in Nalwa village, 27 km from Hisar city of Hisar district, in the Indian state of Haryana.[1]

History

Nalwa, which means Tiger, was named after Sardar Balwant Singh Nalwa, who was the Deputy Commissioner of Hisar district during the British Raj, when Haryana was an integral part of undivided Punjab. Balwant Singh Nalwa was the fifth generation descendant of the famed Uppal Khatri Sikh General Sardar Hari Singh Nalwa.

According to the data maintained by the Government of India's Department of Statistics, the Government College, Nalwa was established in 1980 by Sh. Sita Ram, President of Jindal Trust.[2][3]

Courses

The college started offering Kurukshetra University undergraduate courses in arts (BA) and commerce (B.Com) in 1981.[4]
