General parameters

• class – valid values are fa, a, ga, b, c, start, stub, fl, list, category, disambig, draft, file, portal, project, template, na (case-insensitive). See the project's quality scale for details. Setting an explicit value of NA is rarely necessary; for this, either leave |class= blank or omit the parameter.
• importance – valid values are: top, high, mid, low, na (case-insensitive). See the project's importance scale for details. Setting an explicit value of NA is rarely necessary; for this, either leave |importance= blank or omit the parameter.
• attention – set |attention=yes if the article needs immediate attention from experienced editors. Use only if another parameter does not cover the need for attention; this should be used sparingly. It is strongly encouraged to also add a section to the talk page explaining what needs attention.
  • This parameter populates Category:United Arab Emirates articles needing attention.
• imageneeded – set |imageneeded=yes to request that an image be added to this article.
  • This parameter populates Category:Wikipedia requested photographs in the United Arab Emirates.
  • imagedetails – (appears only if |imageneeded=yes) Additional details to describe the image that is requested.
• listas – This parameter, which is the equivalent of the DEFAULTSORT sortkey that should be placed on all biographical articles, is a sortkey for the article talk page (e.g. for Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, use |listas=Nahyan, Zayed bin Sultan Al so that the talk page will show up in the N's and not the Z's of the various assessment and administrative categories). This is important because it is one source used by those who set DEFAULTSORT on the article; consider also setting the DEFAULTSORT for the article when setting this parameter.   If the article is using {{WikiProject banner shell}} then it is preferable to add |listas= to that template instead of a project banner template. Putting the parameter on more than one template is not required.
• category – set |category=no if, and only if, a banner is being used for demonstration or testing purposes, to prevent unnecessary or undesirable categorization. Otherwise, omit this parameter.

Task forces

• Abu Dhabi – set |Abu Dhabi=yes if the article is supported by WikiProject Abu Dhabi.
  • This parameter populates Category:WikiProject Abu Dhabi articles, and the relevant subcategory of Category:Abu Dhabi articles by quality based upon the |class= parameter.
  • Abu Dhabi-importance (only used if |Abu Dhabi=yes is set; uses the same values as |importance=) – Importance rating within WikiProject Abu Dhabi
    • This importance rating populates the relevant subcategory of Category:Abu Dhabi articles by importance.
  • If |imageneeded=yes is also set, this parameter populates Category:Wikipedia requested photographs in Abu Dhabi.
• Ajman – set |Ajman=yes if the article is supported by the Ajman work group.
  • This parameter populates Category:Ajman articles, and the relevant subcategory of Category:Ajman articles by quality based upon the |class= parameter.
  • Ajman-importance (only used if |Ajman=yes is set; uses the same values as |importance=) – Importance rating within the Ajman work group
    • This importance rating populates the relevant subcategory of Category:Ajman articles by importance.
  • If |imageneeded=yes is also set, this parameter populates Category:Wikipedia requested photographs in Ajman.
• Dubai – set |Dubai=yes if the article is supported by WikiProject Dubai.
  • This parameter populates Category:WikiProject Dubai articles, and the relevant subcategory of Category:Dubai articles by quality based upon the |class= parameter.
  • Dubai-importance (only used if |Dubai=yes is set; uses the same values as |importance=) – Importance rating within WikiProject Dubai
    • This importance rating populates the relevant subcategory of Category:Dubai articles by importance.
  • If |attention=yes is also set, this parameter populates Category:Dubai articles needing attention.
  • If |imageneeded=yes is also set, this parameter populates Category:Wikipedia requested photographs in Dubai.
• Fujairah – set |Fujairah=yes if the article is supported by the Fujairah work group.
  • This parameter populates Category:Fujairah articles, and the relevant subcategory of Category:Fujairah articles by quality based upon the |class= parameter.
  • Fujairah-importance (only used if |Fujairah=yes is set; uses the same values as |importance=) – Importance rating within the Fujairah work group
    • This importance rating populates the relevant subcategory of Category:Fujairah articles by importance.
  • If |imageneeded=yes is also set, this parameter populates Category:Wikipedia requested photographs in Fujairah.
• Northern Emirates – set |Northern Emirates=yes if the article is supported by WikiProject Northern Emirates.
  • This parameter populates Category:WikiProject Northern Emirates articles, and the relevant subcategory of Category:Northern Emirates articles by quality based upon the |class= parameter.
  • Northern Emirates-importance (only used if |Northern Emirates=yes is set; uses the same values as |importance=) – Importance rating within WikiProject Northern Emirates
    • This importance rating populates the relevant subcategory of Category:Northern Emirates articles by importance.

Aliases

• The parameter |dubai= is recognised as an alias for |Dubai=. If both |Dubai= and |dubai= are present, |dubai= is ignored.

• The parameter |dubai-importance= is recognised as an alias for |Dubai-importance=. If both |Dubai-importance= and |dubai-importance= are present, |dubai-importance= is ignored.

• The parameter |Ras Al Khaimah= is recognised as an alias for |Ras Al Khaimah=. If both |Ras Al Khaimah= and |Ras Al Khaimah= are present, |Ras Al Khaimah= is ignored.

• The parameter |Ras Al Khaimah-importance= is recognised as an alias for |Ras Al Khaimah-importance=. If both |Ras Al Khaimah-importance= and |Ras Al Khaimah-importance= are present, |Ras Al Khaimah-importance= is ignored.

• The parameter |Umm al-Quwain= is recognised as an alias for |Umm Al Quwain=. If both |Umm Al Quwain= and |Umm al-Quwain= are present, |Umm al-Quwain= is ignored.
