I have included news articles from cyclingnews.com and cyclingtips.com, both of which are major sports news outlets. Are these sufficiently important outlets? If so, I can include more references from different articles on these sites

Andrew Rothschild has invented the genre bluestronica. There is no published music that falls in this genre of bluestronica. Andrew Rothschild's music does not fit the blues, or electronica genre. Hence he has created a new genre. No artist has claimed their music to be apart of this genre. He has elements of both in his music. The sources are legitimate. This is not a scientific matter, he is an artist and his artwork has received notable attention.

I was researching this company for work and was surprised that they didn't have an article in wikipedia. I wanted to know who they were and what their basic business model was. I had to go to an external source to find this. I thought it would be useful to have this info in wikipedia. I don't work for them, I don't have a vested interest in their success or failure, I just found it annoying that this info wasn't available here, and wanted to fix that.

Thank you for your review of my draft. I have been through way too many drafts, re-writes, and deletions for this page. It has been shortened, condensed, and as many sources as are available have been cited. I have read all of the articles that have been linked. There are no other sources available on the internet, as it is a small company. There are no opinions reflected in the draft, only basic facts. I don't see how this can be changed any more. This latest draft is even a re-write from one of your moderators. Please advise.

Appreciate the comment regarding notability, however surely an amateur gym which produces a national finalist every five years; has a host of professional boxers at its platform and trained a world heavyweight contender is defined with some element of notability? References, both past and present, throughout the history of this establishment highlight its significance?

I'd very much appreciate your feedback as to how I can make this article more robust.

Hello SwisterTwister, I understand your point of view and the publishing rules on Wikipedia. Really, I do! The reason I decided to send the article in Wikipedia (even it doesn't respect the rules) is because Ezi Car Rental is become the first 100% Kiwi own rental company in New Zealand. New Zealand is a small country. References are not like in Europe (where I come from) or another big country in the World. With the current rules of publication only the big companies can be on Wikipedia. Is it really the most relevant point of view for an online encyclopedia? I could be wrong but I don't think so. It is not an argumentation for publishing the article about Ezi Car Rental. Your decision respect the rules. It is just my point of view about this. Now, I will wait until someone else decide that Ezi Car Rental is enough relevant to be on Wikipedia. Thank you for your time and for your participation to Wikipedia. Jeremy

The band "The Hot Place" fits your guideline as, "an ensemble that contains two or more independently notable musicians, or is a musician who has been a reasonably prominent member of two or more independently notable ensembles." The founding member and guitarist of The Hot Place, Jeff Calder, is a notable musician who is also currently active in the band "The Swimming Pool Q's". The Swimming Pool Q's are a national band, and have been recognized in Rolling Stone magazine, their most recent album "1984-1986:The A&M Years" was a Rolling Stone "Reissue of the Year", picked by David Fricke, on page 32 of the December 19-Jan 2 2014 print magazine. The Swimming Pool Q's have had five national/international album releases, on the major labels A&M, Capitol, and Bar None. The singer and other founding member of The Hot Place, Lisa King has has been a member of notable band The Glenn Phillips band, who have released albums on Virgin and Sony Records. King also played keyboards with The Swimming Pool Q's from 2003-2006. The Hot Place features guest guitarist Richard Lloyd of the band "Television", another member of a prominent 1970's band, with historical releases on Elektra records. The Hot Place has been featured in print, in significant North American publications "Georgia Music Magazine", "Stomp and Stammer", and "Creative Loafing."

The Hot Place is directly connected to two major musical artists. One of its founding members is Jeff Calder of The Swimming Pool Q's, and guest artist Richard Lloyd of Television, who already have Wikipedia Pages. Could you please clarify how to substantiate that more? I did connect The Hot Place to The Swimming Pool Q's via internal Wikipedia linking. The sources cited, if read in detail, are more than just announcements, interviews, and mentions. They directly discuss how Jeff Calder of The Swimming Pool Q's and Richard Lloyd of Television are connected to and/or are members of the Atlanta band The Hot Place. Many of the album reviews and mentions of the band are in analog print media, though I have found several digital places where the band's members are verified and substantiated. Thank you for your help!

This article in particular substantiates The Hot Place's history and verifies the notable musicians who are members. http://www.clatl.com/music/article/13080910/new-wavers-instudio-chemistry-ignites-the-hot-place. I'm not sure how this is not a substantial source. If you could clarify, I would so appreciate it! Thank you!

Hi SisterTwister! Thanks for taking the time to have a look at the changes to the article... Just a quick question for clarification (so that I can get the next edit right): Is the problem that there are not enough external references? A bit confused, as the first reviewer indicated that the article was copied, so I removed all direct references to this (even though they were quoted/cited), but not that there weren't enough notable articles... Please let me know what I need to do to improve the article and have it accepted. Thanks again!

Hi, I would respectfully appreciate a review. Melissa Del Pinto has been recognized as a Canadian artist by The National Gallery of Canada and her name was added to the “Government of Canada, Canadian Heritage Database of Canadian Artists”. I have added the link. In addition, to address the points used to refuse her submission, her paintings are in the collections of notable Canadian collectors. I added the name of Irwin and Claude Lande. Mr. Lande is a noted real-estate developer living in Westmount (Montreal).

I have worked on finding more sources for my citations. The first three reference citations, are from National, credible print and digital magazines, the state run publication "Georgia Music Magazine", and a newspaper which is owned by the Atlanta Journal and Constitution, "Creative Loafing." The References directly explain how The Hot Place contains two notable international musicians in its lineup, Jeff Calder of “The Swimming Pool Q's” and Richard Lloyd of “Television.” Especially notable is source #2, Georgia Music Magazine. This is a state-run print and digital publication. Source 1 and 3 are not merely announcements, they are also detailed articles which explain The Hot Place's debut, and the notable musicians that are involved in the historic project. I also added another source that I found this morning, “Arts Talk” on Blog Talk Radio, Episode #104 Lisa King. I have also looked at other Atlanta bands Wikipedia pages. Some of these are groups which are far less notable than The Hot Place, with no notable musicians involved, and cite less reliable sources. So, I'm curious as to why those articles were approved, and this one is being rejected. Please advise! My sources all verify the notable musicians involved in The Hot Place.

Added another cited source, from "The Recoup" magazine, by Joseph Kyle, in which Jeff Calder directly speaks about being a member and producer of The Hot Place band, with musician Lisa King. https://therecoup.com/2014/04/21/swimming-pool-qs-working-at-the-nut-factory/. The article quotes Jeff Calder of The Swimming Pool Q's, "We have about 2/3 of a new album mixed, and a few basic tracks standing by in the queue, waiting to be finished. I’ve co-produced them with Tim Delaney, a talented Atlanta musician and engineer we’ve worked with as far back as Royal Academy. It certainly helps that I’m friends with a number of great recording engineers, many of whom I was fortunate to be associated with at Atlanta’s legendary Southern Tracks studio, which I helped to manage for many years and where I was on the periphery of what seems like a hundred major rock albums produced by Brendan O’Brien.I like doing new things, having recently produced and played on an album by The Hot Place, Lisa King’s band based in Atlanta. It’s a pretty cool record that has a song called “Saturn Moved” on which Richard Lloyd of Television unleashes a wild solo."

I have resubmitted the article to incorporate all the changes suggested by yourself and other Wikipedia reviewers. I have made substantial changes throughout the document to get rid of any extraneous or unnecessary language, with the effect of streamlining the article. The article now only contains direct and informative language with no self-promotional or journal-like language. I believe you will find the changes I have made to be much more in line with a Wikipedia article.

Obviously trying very hard to conform this to meet the criteria, but wanted to clarify what was meant by focusing on all additional major news, there is a video interview from CNN, but most of the stories tend to refer mostly back to the Chicago Facebook page that I mentioned as a primary source, which to me makes the additional sources a bit moot, but I am willing to do what is needed to get this thing done :) Any further guidance/advice you can offer would be extremely appricated...thanks for the fast review!

Thank you for your time. Rene Moreno meets the notability requirements when you look at it from the angle that he is a very significant person with Down syndrome. That's key here. His documentary is commonplace in collegiate special education curriculums across the country, and has been for 17 years. Up Syndrome has been on Netflix, Hulu amongst many other major streaming outlets for many years. His movies have been the subject of reviews in major trades such as Daily Variety (which is referenced), and he has won a very prestigious award from the National Down Syndrome Congress of the USA (also referenced), which is one of the largest organizations to promote the awareness of Down syndrome that exists in the world today. I think when you look at this person with the correct angle you will understand that he is indeed notable and worthy of inclusion.

Please be more specific as to what should be improved. The sources are all reliable and independent of the subject. The amount of, the breadth and the character of the sources, as well as the notable award winners proof that the article is about a notable subject. So if this is not enough, please be specific about what should be improved.

Thank you for your feedback. This is my first article. I have only ever made minor contributions to other article over the last 10 years or so. Before I wrote this article I read the pages that talk about notability and also needing independent credible sources from news/media publishers who have editors etc.. I believe the page I have drafted has merit based on the guidelines. The development of renewable energy in Australia has been significantly influenced by not for profit and grass roots groups such as Local Power. Not sure if you had a chance to read/view many of the references and if you did perhaps you are not familiar with the Australian media organisations in the references?

The TV coverage of this community initiative was made by the ABC TV network and the TEN TV network. The Australian ABC is a highly credible news organisation of journalistic integrity spanning radio, TV and online. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Australian_Broadcasting_Corporation The Australian TEN TV network is one of our 3 commercial news networks and comparable to perhaps NBC or CBS in the US. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Network_Ten Both of these TV broadcast news services thought this was a newsworthy community initiative which had not been done before. The youtube clips are recordings of the prime time TV news article which were broadcast to audiences of over 1 million people each.

Similarly the ATA is a very credible member based organisation and magazine publisher of ReNew magazine, which has been publishing since 1980 and is not up to it's 138th quarterly magazine https://www.ata.org.au/who/history They chose to write a feature article about the Local Power project because it was something new and novel.

Finally the City South News is a local community newspaper and part of the News Corporation stable of newspapers. While I am not a big fan or Rupert Murdoch (Fox News yuk!) he did get his starts running newspapers in Australia This chain of local papers are said to have 1 million readers weekly. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quest_Community_Newspapers

I would humbly ask you to take a closer look at the references, taking into account the above information about independence, and please reconsider this rejection.

    thank you.

18:06:50, 27 January 2017 review of submission by Carrie at The Fischer Group

Thanks for reviewing our article, I really appreciate it. I want to update the article so that it meets guidelines, but wanted to know which portion specifically doesn't conform to the guidelines so I can work with that. From what I can tell, the article if not very different from the following (in words / scope) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M/I_Homes or https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PulteGroup.

Fischer is in the same group as those two homebuilders (and many others already included in Wikipedia) and being in the top 50 in the nation (something that M/I mentions in their article as well) I would think that content is noteworthy as well.

The remainder of the article just lists out the areas of business (where they do business) as well as a small amount of history (founder etc...) for the company (something I see the other Homebuilders do as well.)

If you could give me a little more feedback on what is different from my article and those above (as initial examples) I would appreciate it so I can make the needed changes.

Thanks! I look forward to your help / further comments on the differences.

16:22:53, 29 January 2017 review of submission by Carrie at The Fischer Group

Ok, that makes sense. So what updates do I need to make to it for it to meet the new company guidelines? I don't see any specifics on that which we have not already covered here? I'm specifically looking for "doing this would make it meet the new guidelines" kind of information.

I've re-read the following: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Notability_(organizations_and_companies) and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Companies/Guidelines and it appears from what I can see there that the article, in its current state covers the areas mentioned.

Again, as far as companies go, and looking at the other homebuilders (as well as other companies) in the space, Fischer is certainly in line with those which are included. (They have been in the top 50 home builders for many years now, they operate in multiple states nationwide, they have plenty of press on them, they are are one of the big builders for the St. Jude's dream home giveaway (which benefits less fortunate people), and the list goes on.

When you get time, let me know what I can do in the way of edits to help get this article revised and into the article space. I appreciate the info so far. It is helpful.

    Thanks.

Hello, first, thanks for taking time to being a Wikipedia curator.

There are 6 main sources cited, that are serious sources (in the Middle-East, and Lebanon). Text publications are rarely digitized, but I could recollect printed articles (Can/should we add them as references and provide scanned proof? What is the procedure for such cases).

The company had a social impact, which is why it is covered. As you might have now noticed, the digital ecosystem is nearly non-existent in this region, and having publicly accessible digital manufacturing service shop with industrial 3D printers in Lebanon is a big step. Not to mention the creation of new 3D printing materials! (2 materials) and several machines.

Additional projects may be appended: Rapidmanufactory has been invited to the St-Etienne Design Biennial this coming march to exhibit: https://www.instagram.com/explore/tags/theobsessivedrafter/ . This would generate articles by "more known" media entities. A published book about manufacturing (especially digital fabrication), was created by the founder; An article in "L'Orient Le Jour", talks about it: https://www.lorientlejour.com/article/1030988/guillaume-credoz-et-son-robot.html

Looking forward to your assistance in having this article published.

    Thank you, Chady

Dear SwisterTwister, thank you for your review and suggestions for improvement. You are absolutely right, the viennacontemporary header needs to be deleted (done).

Regarding additional articles: I added an article from the NY Times from 2015: https://www.nytimes.com/2015/10/14/arts/international/vienna-looks-east-for-fine-art.html?_r=0

But otherwise, I would like to argue that the most important English references are already included in the article (I guess I can’t add German publications where we have a lot of press, in all the major newspapers). I have included: Forbes, Vogue, and important publications from the artworld: Wallpaper Magazine, Blouin Artinfo, Artsy, Sotheby’s blog, The Art Newspaper, artnet News, Flash Art, artforum.com, Widewalls, Cultured Mag.

Would that be fine for you?

    Hi there,

many thanks for taking the time to review the page I created. I am new to Wikipedia so am finding my way through trial and error so would be grateful for any help to improve the chances of submission! I felt the subject worthy of an article, largely because of her role as ambassador for the Orange Tree theatre in London. The theatre is a theatre that produces new work of exceptional standard, most recently reviewed in Variety magazine Los Angeles, and acknowledged to be a forerunner in new writing. Heery was one of fourteen invited because they were considered to be 'leading figures in the Arts and beyond – who will champion the work of the Theatre.' She is also a member of the Davison/Tennant family who have a large fan base in the worldwide science fiction community, not only because of her work with Big Finish audio, but also because of her film work in the series The Tripods, and Life Force. Her son, David Tennant's step brother in law, Louis Davison, has just played Victor in Tim Burton's Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children made by Fox films. As an ambassador for theatre she is able to reach a wide audience through her body of work, regular TV work spanning twenty five years, and professional relationships within the literary world. Is any of this helpful as regards an edit?

    Best Hamhaugh.

Hi there, I wasn't quite sure what you meant by 'merged to the local community's article' - could you clarify? I thought given the school's history and relationship to other wiki articles, that it would be a good candidate for a page of it's own - I don't understand why it's not notable just because it's not a secondary school. Would you mind elaborating?

Hi! Thanks for the review. Added references from a variety of news sources on multiple topics. Used other podcast pages as reference for how rigor this should be, e.g. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_New_Screen_Savers

Hope that's enough for approval! Thanks

I would like to thanks for your review. Unfortunately my submitted article doesn't meet wiki's guideline for notable personality article. After your firs review I have added a few more references. I think it should meet your guideline. Here I want to inform you that Bangladesh's news industry basically depends on Bengali language. A few English language Daily Newspaper or Online News portal available in here. So, Bangladeshi actress Misty Zannat's news are all around in Bengali language online and newspaper but a fewer in English newspaper and online. Before re-review my article please consider this fact.

    A food for thought....

As you did at Draft:Peter Wakeman, it is in my opinion a mildly disruptive act to not mention the ASD tagging in the edit summary when you are proposing a page for speedy deletion.Probably WP:TWINKLE could come to your help in such cases and also save a lot of time. Thanks!

Hi guys, thanks for the comments. I'm happy to add more reviews as there are many to choose from. Still, I'm surprised that Nick Kristoff's (arguably the most important reviewer at the NY Times) isn't alone sufficient. Is that all this needs? Just more reviews? Please advise and I will continue adding them. Thanks very much!

I believe the added television interviews and press accounts meet the standards for notability. Also if you look at the page for the Under Secretary of Treasury, there's a red link missing waiting for Jim's page to be added.

    Hope that helps!

You declined this article with the reasoning "this is simply what they would advertise to clients and it's unconvincing regardless of anything or anyone" however, it is not clear what is 'unconvincing', much less who is 'anything or anyone'. Please state coherent grounds for declining it, so that the problem can be fixed.

Also, you stated "examining the sources find they're only announcements and mentions". This did not reflect the facts at the time of the original submission, and even less so now. In the original submission, two reliable, independent sources were cited (namely Cleveland Encyclopedia and ASME), both showing that the subject of this article is both notable and worthy of inclusion. In the meantime, a second more detailed reference by ASME (which has a national audience) as well as a reference from Heartland Science (created by the Ohio Academy of Science) have been added. Both of these also discuss how the subject of this article is notable and worthy of inclusion.

Please accept the submission. Thank you for your time.

    HI there Twisted Sister,

Many thanks for the re-review, this is Michael Stever, (filmmaker) I am NOT the person who created this initial draft, nor am I the one who has amended it the last couple times. There is no (Present) need for a re-review as my team has not had a change to make any changes/updates so clearly it's a mute point until then. I did have just a couple questions regarding the submission protocol and I've not been able to get a solid enough answer from the person doing this for me so am reaching out to you myself. I realize that you want more 'high profile' pieces added to to this draft, which I actually am in the process of providing. To date myself or my team have just not had the chance as we've been swamped with work, and other obligations.

In the meantime, if you don't mind me showing you the two pieces I'd planned on adding, it would be HUGELY helpful if you could give a heads up if you thought these two following write-ups could be helpful in pushing my listing through... Here are the two mentiones in two nationally circulated, high-profile publications. BOTH of the below write-ups are relatively new...

FEATURED MENTION IN 'ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY' http://ew.com/article/2016/09/14/fearnyc-new-york-horror-film-festival/

    FEATURED WRITE-UP 'FANGORIA' magazine http://www.fangoria.com/new/winners-highlight-video-revealed-for-fearnyc-festival/

Finally, TwistedSister... if I may humbly ask, Why do the rejection notices constantly and repeatedly say that the submissions need to be ABOUT ME, not BY ME? Most of these links and such are to write-ups in noteworthy, legitimate online publications, so I (nor the person doing this for me) are clearly understanding the particulars of this important bullet point. Can you PLEASE expand on this, so I/we know? I have NEVER had the question adequately answered, and clearly we need to better understand so my team can fine tune the draft to a most acceptable level... Is it that I need to ensure ALL links to anythings tied to my own website, (MichaelStever.net) need to be fully omitted? Am also in the dark on what does, or does NOT constitute as worthy information from IMDB, as I see COUNTLESS other wiki pages that list/feature IMDB content.

ALSO, I'm worrying that this existing draft will somehow be deleted, or permenantly removed if it gets enough 'rejection' notices, so PLEASE is there any way to ensure it NOT get re-reviewed anymore until myself and my team have time regroup, and re-edit, it would be sincerely appreciated,

thank you for ANY clues you have TwistedSister..

My mom's also about to pass, so have to brace for that which leaves this pretty low on the priority list, but SO SINCERELY appreciate any help or input you could offer,

    Sincerely,

    Michael Stever

I translated, from the english to the spanish, and expanded the article about Rebecca Solnit. There is no spanish article about Rebecca Solnit in the Wikipedia. My article was rejected because "the subject of this article already exists in Wikipedia. You can find it and improve it at Rebecca Solnit instead". In english you have an article, which I did not edited, but in spanish there is nothing about the author. I am new in wikipedia and I do not know what to do, how is the correct procedure when you are translating an article from a language to another? Could you give me some information about the steps I need to follow right now?

I think we got it - I hope. I edited the subject's career section to introduce the connection with the subject's books. I also added hyperlinks within some of the sections and other small edits. I've studied the subject for a while, so I think it's important to keep the critical aspects of the career history as they led to the books. Without the career section, then the subject didn't have the expertise to write the books. Thank you.

I have read the Golden Rule and the requirements for significant comment from reliable sources but I do not understand what is missing to prove the notoriety of the one of the most controversial people in Alberta politics, the Mayor of Alberta's 14th largest city (Chestermere) Patricia Matthews: see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Patricia_Matthews_(politician)#cite_note-77 . Just today she was cleared of wrong doing in a year long Provincial investigation (see the last line AND the two cited independent media sources).

Is it that there are some references to 'smaller' sources like The Anchor (local newspaper) and if so should those references be removed? CBC, The Calgary Herald, The SUN, Global TV, 660 News and others are all very large scale media outlets that operate regionally or nationally with large well paid editorial staff. The article contains dozens of such references over controversies driven by Mayor Matthews and the "smaller' references help fill in the story so I would hate to remove them.

Your comments as to what is missing would be appreciated.

The references number 5,6 and 7 are governmental verifications that the school was accredited from both Norwegian and Swedish government. If this information is not enough, please point me in the direction to what sources you need to approve it.

Hello! I am new to editing Wikipedia (I have always been a regular user of course!). Thank you very much for all that you've contributed to the project. I am surprised that Susto the band is not notable enough for a page. They have two albums, were recently featured on CBS News, have been reviewed by local newspapers and music websites, and are about to go on tour with the Lumineers. I have seen them play at at packed venues twice. It seems odd to me that they would not have a page at this point.

Hey Swister. Thanks for reviewing my page. I'm just wondering if you can help with a little more advice. I've asked in the live chat for some more advice (as I'm new to this) and been advised that the main reason is our page sounding like and advertisement (as you've suggested as well that it seem like a business listing). I've done my best to avoid that by only stating facts etc. but if this isn't the case (and if you have a chance) would you be able to help me understand if there was a specific section that is still in the wrong tone? I only ask as there are two pages for competitor businesses that are similar (with the CD Baby one in particular even referencing their prices etc.) I understand it's not a case of "They have a page so you get one too", just wondering if there is something I'm missing that makes theirs okay and the RouteNote one require changes. Apologies if this sounds argumentative (it's genuinely not written that way, but tone is hard to convey in text!). Also, just in case you see this message before I manage to fix my user page, I am about to attempt to declare that I work for RouteNote (in case it wasn't already clear). Thanks again. Nick

Hey Swister, Thanks again for taking the time to answer my questions and help me with this article. I see what you mean regarding the sources being merely mentions within articles. Do you think it would help if I removed the majority of the sources with the exception of the West Briton one (which is a specific article about RouteNote) and maybe the PC Mag one (as that is a guide for other aspiring musicians on how to upload music, one where the reviewer happens to use RouteNote)? Also, if this would help, can we still keep the references to the websites that have reviewed us without specifically using the sources? Again, really appreciate your help with this. It's my first article submission for Wiki and want to get it right! Nick

    Decline of Draft:Ewald Arenz

Dear Swister Twister, thanks for having a look at the new article about Ewald Arenz. I can see that there is a problem with German and Italian sources, but those are partly printed and online encyclopaedia articles, secondary literature on the person and partly reviews by German TV and Radio stations. Since his works are increasingly published in other languages an English wikipedia site seems reasonable. Besides, there are already two articles on Ewald Arenz in the German and Arab Wikipedia. I have already and will add some more references if necessary.

I'm requesting a re-review after having revised the article I submitted about Ambassador Maguy Maccario Doyle, to better tailor it to Wikipedia policies. In doing so, I am concerned that I have had to omit important information about the nature of the Ambassador's work and missions in the article, in an attempt to make it seem less promotional. In my view, an objective description of her positions and achievements is conducive to the article, though I see the concern for bias, so how do you suggest I go about constructing it so that it remains objective but not simply the list of titles and dates that it has been edited down to? I have also been given permission by my superiors at the embassy of Monaco to use the photo of the ambassador on the government/embassy website, to which they own the copyright. Can I do so without overstepping legal boundaries? CharlieCathryn (talk) 18:49, 22 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I don't understand why this page is deemed to advert like, and it will be great to get some guidance as to what makes it not be adequate for Wikipedia. This entry pertains to an open science effort, that has touched the lives of more than 20,000 scientists, and we are explaining what it is. It consists of a crowdsourcing effort to solve scientific problems. Similar pages already exist (CASP, CAPRI) and they are not advertisement. This is a scientific endeavor, with publications the most prestigious journals, and of wide public interest. Please help us understand. Thanks very much.

    Ron Benvenisti

Hi, Sis. You won't find me arguing with this. But you beat me by seconds: I was going to write something in the same vein, only with some elaboration.

The draft does actually make one or two fairly remarkable claims. Here's one: "At nineteen he became the youngest to join Magnum photos." That's Magnum Photos. Let's not argue over whether or not joining Magnum makes somebody encyclopedia-worthy; Wikipedia criteria aside for a moment, it is a major achievement. It's a prime example of the kind of claim that needs very clear and reliable evidence: a specific "<ref> ... </ref>" right next to it.

And what do you know, there is, or anyway briefly was, a specific claim for his membership: here.

Except that this had a big problem.

Of course I want to AGF, but there is a distinct possibility that the author of this draft might be less than entirely scrupulous when "sourcing".

Allegations must be made with care, so I'll not make them. However, can I suggest that you revisit Draft:Ron_Benvenisti and add to your comment that specific claims must come with specific sources? As a model for this among photographer bios, you might give the very new article Mimi Mollica (not by me but Lopifalko). -- Hoary (talk) 05:54, 23 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Concern over Nomination for Deletion of Floship

I was the creator of the page floship, I created that page in good faith I came to know about floship in 2016 because my family business uses their services. So considering it notable enough I created that article, now after reviewing it as you have pointed out I believe it was created in little hurry so language was not appropriate and unwanted sentences were added. So after you pointed out I improved it, though most of the references are little reliable and PR based but there are some strong references too and I don't find it a case of total hopelessness. So I request you to consider it, as every creator do care for his creation so do I. And you're talking about some Paid thing, I assure you I am rich enough not to be involved in such little things. I am book and knowledge lover and love to spend two three hours searching things and wikipedia has been my source of information and comfort since 2006 so after a long time I decided to contribute positively. That is the case, so don't disappoint me. CR Guru PK (talk) 13:32, 23 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

    Mandela effect

You added a link to this Google search to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mandela Effect in 2015 Sep. Can you remember how many hits it was returning back then? When you follow it now Google, as is its habit, initially reports half a million hits but if you try looking for all of them it revises its figure down to about 200. I am not going to admit it to the person who has been pleading on my talk page but 200 hits including some reliable sources does seem to be verging on notability. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 20:04, 23 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi and thanks for taking the time to review the biographical article on Dr. James Loging. Dr. Loging has been a beloved member of the community in the South Carolina towns he works in, which is why I felt compelled to submit an article.

However I do not understand the specific reason given for declining the article. You site policy that the sources are "simply announcements or mentions," but I disagree. Citing the trademark filing shows his invention is legitimate and recognized by the U.S. government, clearly a 3rd party. Would it be better to reference the invention's Amazon/Facebook/Walmart page/sales as evidence of its legitmacy? As a surgeon, having a video news segment from 10 years ago noting how he brought the procedure to our state is more than a mention, especially when a source like the Wall Street Journal wrote an article a few weeks ago talking about the popularity of the anterior hip replacement procedure today (I could not reference it because you have to be a paid member). I added references to his websites because they are newer to try to show who he is, so maybe those are not independent sources and we should take them out. But I do feel all of the other references are clearly reliable and independent.

So I guess it all boils down to whether he has had "significant coverage." Is the beauty in the eye of the beholder on that one? Is he penalized because he has worked most of his career in a time and field where Internet coverage is not important/sought after? Is it a small-town thing? If he practiced medicine in New York or L.A. that had a big PR firm would he have more "significant coverage" and thus be more likely to have an article approved?

If the answer to the above questions are yes, then I don't think I can make a counter-argument. I would only ask for clarification on what significant coverage is. But if that is the case, I feel that there may be an inherent bias against people who make a notable difference in their community, if that community is a smaller one. Dr. Loging has made such a difference in the lives of people in Columbia, SC, Greenville, SC and almost every small town in between as a surgeon, and helped parents and toddlers around the world with his invention. For this reason, I feel he is as notable as thousands of other entries on Wikipedia who others may or may not have heard of before.

Would you be able to clarify what is needed to improve the Americo Makk article? I have large compilation of news articles from the 60s into the 90s, which I thought I referenced correctly, as well as the books. The articles themselves were also art reviews. The museum collections are noted within the article, such as the collection in Military Museum in Budapest Hungary in Buda Castle. I can add more collections, should that be in a list? Coutts Museum of Art has the largest collection of Makk paintings in the U.S. (http://couttsmuseum.org/). Any help is greatly appreciated since I have never done one of these. Thank you!

    Museum collections

On this judgement of yours: This is currently formatted as a personal memorial website, not a convincing encyclopedia article; also, with this said, he would have needed museum collections to be notable as a photographer.

It is indeed "formatted as a personal memorial website, not a convincing encyclopedia article". You were right to decline the application. But how is it that museum collections are required for notability as a photographer? Seems to me that they are sufficient but not necessary evidence for notability. There could be entirely different yet adequate evidence for notability. -- Hoary (talk) 01:06, 24 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, sure, WP:ARTIST notes it. But it doesn't require it. Here's what it says (abridged):

Authors, editors, journalists, filmmakers, photographers, artists, architects, and other creative professionals:

    1. [...]
    2. [...]
    3. [...]
    4. The person's work (or works) either (a) [...], (b) [...], (c) ...], or (d) is represented within the permanent collections of several notable galleries or museums.

Actually this is ambiguous. Does it mean Authors, editors, journalists, filmmakers, photographers, artists, architects, and other creative professionals should meet at least one of the following four criteria: or does it mean Authors, editors, journalists, filmmakers, photographers, artists, architects, and other creative professionals should meet all four of the following four criteria:? I'd suggest that the latter would be impossibly strict and therefore it must be the former. Then representation in noteworthy permanent collections would be just one of four options within just one of four options. -- Hoary (talk) 03:18, 24 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

You recently rejected an article I submitted on novelist Owen Laukkanen. Your reason was that the reviews I included were personal ones, not from major publications. This is partly true. I included favorable comments from other authors like John Sandford and Lee Child but I also included excerpts from reviews by various publications. If I drop the entire section called Plaudits, would it be acceptable? If not, if I exchanged all the personal plaudits for excerpts from reviews, would it be acceptable?

    Thank you.

Further questions about submission comment (February 24)

The recent response to my question was: "Well, a subject like this is naturally going to largely consist of a lot of localized news stories, announcements, mentions, interviews and that's what makes it challenging for independent notability and, unless there's a better amount of significance sourcing, it's still too questionable. That's why, in any case, it can be considered for merging to another related article as a section."

Upon research for other economic development organizations on Wikipedia to see what makes them credible I found many with little to no "independent notability." For example: International Economic Development Council, Greater Houston Partnership and Michigan Economic development corporation; all of which have two or less independent sources and the rest are company webpages/sources. I am confused on what makes them credible if almost all of their sources are internal?

Any information regarding this issue is greatly appreciated

    Thank you

Hi SwisterTwister, thank you for your prompt reply. I understand your concern, but I would like to point out that other world Ambassadors to the US and Observers of the OAS have pages published without further acknowledgement, and that the notability of the subject of this article is by comparison very strong. I am more than willing to fix the page to suit your policies, but I would appreciate if you could advise me on what I could change to make this piece more of a primitive/acceptable biography than a business listing. For comparison, please see Ambassador Dina Kawar's page, which is similarly constructed and was accepted (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dina_Kawar). All the best, and may thanks. I'm not convinced by your arguments to my points on Mr. Gupta's notability.

    1. The most notable point, according to me, is that Mr. Pradeep Gupta started the FIRST IT publication in India--CyberMedia, and his company today, is the LARGEST IT media house in India. His publications are common house hold names that everyone has heard of in India. To establish something with such high brand recall and then keep it running in a leadership position after 30+ years, is notable. By the way, I've seen many American media houses and their founders (e.g. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halsey_Minor of CNet) featured on Wikipedia in the same fashion as I've featured Mr. Gupta.

    2. In fact, let me also add that his company, CyberMedia picked up stakes in several American publications, like Computer Shopper and TDA Group. The news was featured prominently on Gigaom, Business Standard, DNA India, MoneyControl, etc.

    https://gigaom.com/2006/02/22/cybermedia-group-acquires-20-per-cent-stake-in-computer-shopper/ https://gigaom.com/2008/03/13/419-cybermedia-acquires-us-based-tda-group/ http://www.dnaindia.com/money/report-cybermedia-snaps-up-us-based-tda-1155913 http://www.moneycontrol.com/news/business/cybermedia-acquires-49-stakepublication-services-inc_254475.html http://www.moneycontrol.com/news/business/sx2-acquisition-will-help-us-go-global-cyber-media_203517.html

    3. On your comment that "It's a mere govt. of India press release", please note that it's proof that the Govt. of India has recognized Mr. Gupta for his achievements in entrepreneurship. It's an honor bestowed upon Mr. Gupta by the country, and that too, by the country's Home Minister.

    4. On your comment about Amazon, an independent writer has written a book that prominently features Mr. Gupta. It's not a user review.

    5. I also mentioned another book on "Cases on Strategic Management" (published by Tata McGraw Hill), which features Mr. Gupta and his company prominently.

I'm therefore again requesting you to consider publishing Mr. Gupta's profile. He is a well-established and respected entrepreneur in India.

    An ANI against me

An ANI has been opened against me, because of my actions in nominating articles for deletion. While it does not directly relate to the issue of Beauty Pageants, the person who opened it is one person who has hounded me about Beauty Pageants and it almost feels like an attempt at revenge for my success in getting so many Miss America contestant articles deleted.John Pack Lambert (talk) 04:01, 28 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I feel like I have no where to turn and greatly appreciate your thanking me. I also feel like anyrhing I do will be used against me. I wish I had figured out a way to not have let things escalate to the point of a threatened extreme limit. I am afraid that anything I do to publicize the attempted ban will be counted as unallowed canvassing. I dont know what to do. I sincerely hope I can convince people to not take any formal action at this time. I am worried that they will. I dont know who to turn to or how to get any help. NP Politician

David, I have just received the notification that the submission for Jean-Luc Bressard was not notable person as a politician. The entry is not meant to be notable as a politician but as an Author who has published three titles and about to publish a series of titles on African History (fourth title), collaborating with a notable Austrian Illustrator. It is simply additional information that Bressard is the son and brother of a Famous Nigerian Politician and this cited fact is surely worthy of note in the entry. In addition to this, he is also next in line to inherit the Chieftaincy title of Balogun of Ife which makes him in hi sown right a Notable Person in the Yoruba Tribe in Nigeria. Yes, Bressard's Father was a prominent African politician who triggered Independence in Nigeria. This is relevant to Bressard's as Bressard's latest Novel "The Black Paradox" directly discusses the discrimination of Black people in western democracies and draws direct parallels with Post Independent Commonwealth countries (an area that his family played a role in West Africa). A notable and relevant heritage is Highly relevant to Bressard's entry but is not the reason that he is notable. Bressard's heritage gives credence to the subject matter that the author is writing about and is, one would have thought extremely relevant in the entry. I would be grateful if you could clarify whether you require the political aspect to be moved further down or whether you require further information on the publications? I would have expected the combined entry and familial links worthy of submission.

Hello, I'm ready to be re-reviewed. I added more reliable sources to the page. I'm curious how other talent agencies like "https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ICM_Partners" are able to have to have a page but I can not get this talent agency published?

HI There, I'm just wondering which sources aren't reliable? All of them? I would have thought industry publications like these are OK: http://www.architectureanddesign.com.au/news/2016-udia-nsw-awards-for-excellence-winners-announ

    Thank you :)

Ok thank you, understood. If i can't find any sources to back up certain points of this article, can I just remove the sections completely? :)

I was writing this request as to why you declined my article so I can personally know what corrections I can make to have my article posted for readers like my self can read.

Bullocks. This is a decent (of course, never finished) article of a very notable topic. There was no consensus to delete for the old version even (not written by me) and this is a complete overhaul and update. Please indicate where and how I can contest your judgement. hello Swister Twister ( I hope this message gets toy you?) thanks for reviewing my article. "focus only with the best focused major independent news as this is what establishes notability"

Are you refering to articles written primarily about Maria Ripoll in national Newspapers etc? The ones written about the films she did and of course also talking about her (her directing style, her carreer etc) ... they should be valid then I guess ? I have already linked up a few of those ( el Pais/ La Vanguardia etc) , but I can find more and add them to "further reading" ...or expand the article into much more detail to add them as footnotes ( would that be a good idea?)

I also linked the awards & festivals that are mentioned in the article to the actual awards pages (Alma awards, the Goya Awards pages etc) other directors dont seem to do that. Is it better to delete those links and focus only on the Newspaper articles?

    thank you

    Hi

Thanks for taking the time to review this again, we'll get there eventually!

I understand what you say regarding the Custom Step sentence being too suggestive as an advertisement and have removed this sentence with the latest edit.

However, I'm not entirely clear on what you mean regarding your "starting company of the year" comment. El Camino Bracelets are not seeking funding or support, however, it'd be great to start with a basic Wikipedia page now, upon which can be added over time. The most similar company to El Camino Bracelets appears to be Pura Vida (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pura_Vida_Bracelets). If my latest edit does not pass, please could you give me a couple of pointers as to why the proposed El Camino Bracelets Wikipedia page would differ from their Wikipedia page, I am far from an expert in this area, however, when I compared the two, the basic principles appear to be very similar.

    Thanks for your time,

    David

Hello, I have considered your previous messages for article submission. I have removed all the sources for the PR, I have removed information on our partners and clients. What else do you suggest? There are plenty of company profiles in Wikipedia and they all somehow promote themselves and you have approved. I 've already mentioned some of them, and I am not going to point out the rest. It is just unfair attitude to approve ones and reject others.

Please be more specific on what appeared promotional to you, and also the sources I have indicated are all from independent media.

I would like a step by step explanation.

    Hello

I would like to have this re reviewed as i think matthew is a very important individual who is very noteworthy and his band has a lot of influence. I am sorry if my references aren't good.

02:49:47, 4 March 2017 review of submission by TheBandShirleyFan

Hi, SwisterTwister. First of all, thank you for taking the time to go through this submission and checking all the information and references. Nevertheless, your feedback states that this article lacks independent sources, which clearly isn't the case. Out of the 13 unique references, only 2 are from the band's own Facebook page and 1 from an announcement article. The rest are feature articles from various online music-related and non-music-related magazines, legitimate newspaper websites (meaning, the article has also been published in local broadsheet), and a University-based newspaper.

Thus, I am requesting for a re-review and reconsideration. Ang Bandang Shirley is a notable band in the local independent music scene in the Philippines, which serve as other younger bands' (who have their own Wikipedia pages) mentor and inspiration. See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autotelic_(band) which listed Ang Bandang Shirley as an associated act. I believe this band is much worthy of having their own Wikipedia page given their name and reputation in this field.

Hoping for a positive response. Again, thank you.

=={{ Dear Sister Twister thank you for the review of my article Maxim Voznesesenkiy. Actually, I was not intending to submit it just yet as I have a photograph to add. I must have clicked the wrong button. However, I am very grateful for your comments and am in the process of editing the article to make it more encyclopaedic, reducing, for a start, the amount of adjectives I have used. I shall also work on the sources. I do hope to have the article accepted in time.Dywana (talk) 10:07, 4 March 2017 (UTC)Dywana[reply]

    Hello

I am surprised that the article has been delined. This is a very specific aspect on postage stamps, namely their withdrawal. This is nowhere being mentioned or explained on the postage stamps wikipedia page. On the German Wikipedia, there is lots of specific stamp topics accepted beside a mainstream postage stamp article.

    Hi there

Thanks for your comments about the page I have submitted "London School of Samba"

I would like to appeal against the decision not to put this page on wikipedia for the following reasons

    1. It deals with a band that plays samba, a world-wide musical genre from Brazil

    2. It is about the first band to be established in the UK

    3. Wikipedia has an entry for samba, and many entries for samba schools in Brazil - notably Mocidade (the patrons of the LSS) and Portela (the winners of the Rio Carnival this year). Why cannot Wikipedia thus have entries for samba schools in the UK, notably the first of the genre

    4. No-one has yet written a book on samba in the UK, so finding a outside reference like this is impossible (compare that say to punk or hip hop). So here I cannot provide this most basic reference from outside the organisation. If you google "london School of samba" and "1984" to you will that it is a fact that the LSS were the first group

    5. There are many newspaper articles on the LSS - but many of these which have a historical context are from before the time of the internet (or even just published in Brazil)

    6. The LSS was the first samba group - now it is estimated to be anything between 400 and 600 such groups in the UK.

    7. I cannot provide a source for above as (a) the one orgnisation that provided or corralated this information has gone down due to the death of the owner in 2015 (it was called the UK Samba Association and can still be found on google searches) (b) the Arts Council of England have published this information many times but only in internal documents for meetings with bands they fund

    8. Thus putting a page up for the LSS would be the same as doing it for any first or early band or any particular genre (viz The Sex Pistols, The Damned etc)

    9. In summary, samba is poorly documented in the mainstream media in books or newspapers in the UK

    10. I have edited the text down to be as brief as possible. It could be even less than this. I ask you to consider the historical significance of the first band to play samba in the UK. I feel this is worthy of a wikipedia page.

    Kind regards

    Hi again

How do I know you have seen my comments (1-10) and appeal?

I have found these links. They are from Brazilian, French and British newspapers dating from 1984, 1985 and 1986.

These talk about the London School of Samba being the first samba school and mention the historical significance of this (albeit not in English and there are no internet sources for this other than what is shown, these cannot be seen online in their original form from the publisher that first printed them).

1984 "First samba school in London" (Brazilian newspaper in the UK) https://www.flickr.com/photos/lsshistoricalarchives/29668458331/in/album-72157671195026723/

I have two more important articles

    - From The Independent 5th November 1998, talks about the LSS being the first samba school in the UK. I only have this as a JPEG. Interview with people in the school. Big article (half a page)

    - From LEROS, a Brazilian magazine in London. An article on the 25th anniversary of the LSS, when they were visited by a Brazilian samba school Mocidade. Talks about the history, the links with Brazil. I only have this as a JPEG.

I cannot show you these as I cannot upload JPEGS as an example.

None of these articles on the internet. I feel that we are going round in circles. We have a historically significant event *the emergence of samba in the UK* But no-one has written a book The only newspaper articles exist from before the internet so cannot be cited unless you accept URLs from a Flickr page that has the originals. You allow samba schools from Brazil But not the first samba school from the UK I have reams of evidence, but none online - except from the links I have provided, which are original scans

With thanks again. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mags Samba (talkcontribs) 23:03, 4 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I know that Wikipedia is built on reliable sources, first and foremost. But I feel that I'd be better off having the article below accepted as a stub and find more reliable sources later. What do you think about this? MindsEyeTHPS (talk) 01:45, 5 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for reviewing my colleague's page - [[Draft:SAP_Web_IDE]]. I (195.93.234.8 (talk) 06:49, 5 March 2017 (UTC)) have taken care of all the concerns -- notability, sourcing -- and believe it is ready to be released. It is as sourced and notable as hundreds of already approved Wikipedia pages on similar subjects. Can you re-review the page? If OK, should I remove the warnings?[reply]
