==Disambiguation link notification for March 10== |

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Episcopal Divinity School, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Union Theological Seminary (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ Join us at the DPL WikiProject. |

Chambered - How is it you know such details of Sherwood Eddy? DEddy (talk) 17:55, 13 November 2011 (UTC)
DEddy - Thanks for your question. Below is a link to the 'George Sherwood Eddy Papers' at the Yale University Library. The web site includes valuable biographical information on the individual known to most of us as just 'Sherwood Eddy.' I believe that Sherwood Eddy's contributions to mid-twentieth century Christianity in the United States are under appreciated. He deserves a page in Wikipedia that more fully reflects his important accomplishments. As a new user, I'm still trying to figure-out how to cite my sources. There is much more information available from reliable sources on Eddy's life and contributions. Over time I hope to help build this page. Would you be able to contribute to this effort? I am wondering about
where you found Herman Matzen's death date? A reference is always a good idea for this sort of edit. Einar aka Carptrash (talk) 15:45, 23 December 2012 (UTC)
- Thank you. That's one of the articles that I consider (despite wikipedia policy) to be "mine" and I looked all over through my material and could not find the dates. As a thanks note I will make you first on my list of editor to receive my Christmas card that explains the origins of many X-mas stories. (Coming soon) Carptrash (talk) 15:45, 24 December 2012 (UTC)
Wrong information added
Hello. I think you probably made a good faith edit HERE, but it turns out you have both the cause of death and location of death wrong for Hubert Howe Bancroft. See: THIS for the correct information. Be sure you are adding footnotes whenever you add significant information to WP articles. Best regards, —Tim /// Carrite (talk) 19:43, 17 April 2015 (UTC)
- Upon further review, it seems you were actually correct about Walnut Creek, per "H.H. Bancroft, Historian, Dies at Age of 86: Prolific American Writer Passes Away at His Home in Walnut Creek," San Francisco Chronicle, vol. 112, no. 47 (March 3, 1918), pg. 1. Sorry about that. Both places are listed as place of death. It seems the front page story in the Chronicle is the most accurate. Carrite (talk) 20:45, 17 April 2015 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Searles High School
A question for you. How is it you became the copyright owner for a high school yearbook? Making a photo of a book's cover does not give you rights to it anymore than taping a broadcast of a musical performance would convey any distribution rights for that performance to you. You need to go to commons, blank the page and request its deletion.
All is not lost. You can upload your photo of the cover on en.wiki (that is where we are now) as a "fair-use" exception. The upload wizzard (linked as "Upload a file" on every page) will guide you through the process.
Seems kinda silly, I know. Commons does not host fair use exceptions. En.wiki does.
Copyright issues are the most complicated thing here. If you have any questions, message me on my talk page and I'll try to answer them. John from Idegon (talk) 04:19, 26 January 2016 (UTC)
July 2016
Hello! Thank you for your recent contributions to Lenox School for Boys. I did have one note for you. I am working on a maintenance project to clean up Category:Pages using infoboxes with thumbnail images. In the future, please do not use thumbnails when adding images to an infobox (see WP:INFOBOXIMAGE). What does this mean? Well in the infobox, when you specify the image you wish to use, instead of doing it like this: |image=
, instead just supply the name of the image. So in this case you can simply do: |image=SomeImage.jpg
. There will then be a separate parameter for the image caption such as |caption=Some image caption
. Please note that this is a generic form message I am leaving on your page because you recetly added a thumbnail to an infobox. The specific parameters for the image and caption may be different for the infobox you are using! Please consult the Template page for the infobox being used to see better documentation. Thanks!!
