Lynn Varley is an artist known as a colorist, the person responsible for the coloring of comics.
She was formerly married to writer/artist Frank Miller.
In 1984 she provided the coloring for Frank Miller's Ronin, an experimental 6 issue series from DC Comics that proved that comics in unusual formats could be commercially successful,and Batman: The Dark Knight Returns (1986) a "four issue mini-series" written and drawn by Frank Miller and inked by Klaus Janson that went on to become a commercial and critical hit that is still being published today.
She has subsequently colored Frank Miller's books including Batman: The Dark Knight Strikes Again, 300, Elektra Lives Again, and Big Guy and Rusty the Boy Robot with Geoff Darrow. She also colored the backgrounds for the 300 movie.
