Ravindra Vishwanath Gaikwad (Template:Lang-mr) (birth 1960) is a member of the 16th Lok Sabha of India. He represents the Osmanabad constituency of Maharashtra and is a member of the Shiv Sena political party. He was a two time MLA from Osmanabad constituency. He has also been the Chairman of Killari Sugar Factory. His major work has been creation of lakes to over come the drought problem in the area. He has also contributed majorly in setting up numerous substations in the constituency to over come the electricity problems. He is a director on the agriculture board committee in the Central Government of India. On 23rd March, 2017 he was accused of hitting an Air India staff, of which he later acknowledged. He mentioned that he is not a BJP member to tolerate the scolding. The indian media claimed, he was in the eye of a row in 2014 for allegedly trying to force-feed a Muslim caterer during the fasting month of Ramzan. Whereas the reality pertaining to it was, he was force-fed because of the poor quality of chapatis served at the Maharashtra Sadan in New Delhi irrespective of the religious background (???).
He has various criminal charges against him which include voluntarily causing hurt to deter public servants from duty, criminal intimidation and rioting among others.[1] He defeated sitting MP Padamsinha Bajirao Patil who contested from Nationalist Congress Party by 235325 votes by obtaining 607699 votes against 373374.[2][3]
