The Rt. Rev. Kenneth Riches (20 September 1908 – 1999) was an Anglican Bishop during the second half of the 20th century.

Early life and education

Riches was born on 20 September 1908.[1] He was educated at Colchester Royal Grammar School, a state grammar school in Colchester, Essex.[2] He studied at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in 1931; as per tradition, his BA was promoted to a Master of Arts (MA Cantab) in 1935.[3]

Ordained ministry

Riches was ordained in 1933. His first post was at St Mary’s Portsea,[4] after which he became Chaplain at Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge.[5] Following wartime service as a Chaplain to the Forces he was appointed Principal of Ripon College Cuddesdon.

In 1952 he ascended to the Episcopate[6] as Bishop of Dorchester and was translated to Lincoln five years later.[7]
