Koichi Watanabe (Template:Lang-ja; born October 26, 1980), better known as Koichi pettas or simply KOICHI, is a Japanese heavyweight kickboxer competing in K-1, It's Showtime and GLORY.[1]

Biography and career

He fights under the ring name Koichi Pettas in honour of his trainer Nicholas Pettas.

He faced Mark Miller at Glory 2: Brussels on October 6, 2012 in Brussels, Belgium[2] and won via KO in the second round.[3]

He fought Jérôme Le Banner in a non-tournament bout at Glory 4: Tokyo - 2012 Heavyweight Grand Slam in Saitama, Japan on December 31, 2012 and lost the fight by third round knockout.[4]

Pettas rematched Jérôme Le Banner at Glory 8: Tokyo - 2013 65kg Slam in Tokyo, Japan on May 3, 2013, losing by unanimous decision.[5][6][7][8]

He lost to Randy Blake by unanimous decision in a tournament reserve fight at Glory 9: New York - 2013 95kg Slam in New York City on June 22, 2013.[9][10][11][12][13]
