The 2nd West Virginia Veteran Volunteer Infantry Regiment was an infantry regiment that served in the Union Army during the American Civil War.

Service

The regiment was created by the amalgamation of the 1st West Virginia Volunteer Infantry Regiment (3 Year) and the 5th West Virginia Volunteer Infantry Regiment on December 10, 1864.

The regiment was mustered out of service on July 16, 1865.

Casualties

The 2nd West Virginia Veteran Volunteer Infantry Regiment suffered 1 enlisted men killed or mortally wounded in battle and 16 enlisted men dead from disease for a total of 17 fatalities.[1]
