All areas of the world that were ever part of the British Empire. Current British Overseas Territories have their names underlined in red.

During the time of the British Empire especially the late 19th Century onwards the dominions, of the colonies, protectorates, mandates, and other territories carried their own flags, mostly under the blue ensign, although some territories and colonies did also use other ensigns for their flags.
