A development deal is an entertainment industry term where a "talent" usually an actor, is placed under contract for a specific amount of time, usually one year or season, for an agreed upon amount, to develop a project specifically for that talent.
A development deal is different from a holding deal in that a holding deal is more vague and does not necessarily develop any projects.
