YourParkingSpace is a website and mobile application that matches drivers to available car parking spaces, both privately and commercially owned.[1]. Founded in 2006 by Charles Cridland, the service was formed to make use of empty parking spaces and driveways, similar to services like Airbnb.
History
YourParkingSpace was launched in 2006 by Charles Cridland[2]. In 2013, the company moved to Level39, Canary Wharf, London[3],
The following year in January 2015, YourParkingSpace took its first £1 as a 5-person company[3]
Investment and Partnership with Harrison Woods.
Harrison Woods featured on Dragon’s Den in 2012 with his original parking space start up, Primal Parking. Woods’ pitch was to link homeowners who had unused parking spaces to drivers looking for bays, which earned him an investment from both Peter Jones and Theo Paphitis.[4]
Woods went on to sell Primal Parking before purchasing a stake in YourParkingSpace[5], becoming partners with founder Charles Cridland in December 2013[2]
Service
YourParkingSpace operates via its website and also has mobile applications on both iOS and Android.
Partnership with Parkhound
In January 2015, YourParkingSpace partnered with Australian car parking marketplace, Parkhound[6]
