Rama Rao, Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Anjali Devi, Savitri in the lead roles[4] and music composed by Saluri Rajeswara Rao.[5] The film was simultaneously made in Tamil as Mathar Kula Manickam (1956).[6] The film is based on Rabindranath Tagore's Bengali novel The Wreck.[7][8]
