User rights
Hello! I am requesting a few permissions. They are:
- Autopatrol
- Reason for request: help keep log down. Most of my edits are either warning users or reversions.
- Prerequisites: 25 good edits
- Pending Changes/New Page Reviewer
- Reason:keeping vandalism and COPYVIO's out of Pend. and New pages.
- Prereq's:
You have an account, and routinely edit. You have a reasonable editing history – as a guide, enough edits that a track record can be established. You have read our policy on vandalism and understand what is vandalism and what is not. You are familiar with the basic content policies: Biographies of living persons, Neutral point of view, No original research, Verifiability and What Wikipedia is not. You are familiar with the basic legal policy: Wikipedia:Copyrights. You have read the guideline on reviewing. registered for at least 90 days to have made at least 500 uncontested edits to mainspace articles Thanks,DoABarrelRoll.dev(Constable of the WikiPolice)(Chat!) 03:08, 2 June 2017 (UTC)
- I think this is better in WP:PERM, don't you? Lil Johnny (talk) (contribs) 05:04, 2 June 2017 (UTC)
- Oh, you did already, may I sugest removing the help tag as your requests are handled there? Lil Johnny (talk) (contribs) 05:07, 2 June 2017 (UTC)
- Applying for so many user rights at the same time, apparently without even knowing what some of them do suggests you may be hat collecting. Beeblebrox (talk) 17:35, 2 June 2017 (UTC)
Pending changes reviewer granted
Hello. Your account has been granted the "pending changes reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on pages protected by pending changes. The list of articles awaiting review is located at Special:PendingChanges, while the list of articles that have pending changes protection turned on is located at Special:StablePages.
Being granted reviewer rights neither grants you status nor changes how you can edit articles. If you do not want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time.

Your signature
Including "Constable of the WikiPolice" in your signature, linked to Wikipedia:WikiPolice, strikes me as in violation of at least the spirit of WP:MISLEADNAME (Usernames that give the impression that the account has permissions which it does not have
) and of WP:SIGPROB which references the username policy, of which WP:MISLEADNAME is a section.
While probably not strictly against policy, your sig seems to me likely to confuse others particularly new users. This is particualrly an issue when you are responding to posts and the Teahouse or doing new page patrol.
Therefore I request that you remove the phrase "Constable of the WikiPolice", and any link to Wikipedia:WikiPolice from your signature. DES (talk) 20:24, 4 June 2017 (UTC)

- Much better. Thank you. Generally, with sigs, less is more. DES (talk) 20:47, 4 June 2017 (UTC)
What is the recommended approach to getting my academic organization's information added to Wikipedia?
Hi there! I am Research Faculty at Georgia Tech, and at the request of our lab's principal investigator had added an article for our lab as well as a bio for him as a notable faculty member in the university (along with many others that are already in the system from the School of Interactive Computing). Both the bio page ("Ashok Goel") and lab page ("Design & Intelligence Laboratory") were taken down via Speedy Deletion, citing conflict of interest as well as use of copyrighted material usage from our lab website (http://dilab.gatech.edu - which I admin). Dr. Goel is already mentioned on the Watson (computer) page, and is the principal investigator of the lab, so I was trying to maintain legitimate linking with existing references so someone could find out more about him and his research at Georgia Tech.
I know full well that organization pages on Wikipedia are not written solely by people not involved in the organization (a former employer had their marketing team write up a company profile article and all partners' bio articles), so am wondering what I need to do to be able to create articles related to our research lab and faculty based at Georgia Tech without violating any kind of copyright or COI restrictions?
Thanks!
