Dale Carrick (born 7 January 1994) is a Scottish professional footballer, who currently plays as a forward for Livingston. Carrick, who started his career with Heart of Midlothian, has also previously played for Raith Rovers, Kilmarnock and Cowdenbeath. He has represented Scotland internationally at under-16 and under-21 levels.
Career
Born in Edinburgh, Carrick grew up supporting his father's home town club, Queen of the South. A member of Hearts Under-20 side,[1] Carrick made his Scottish Premier League debut on 4 August 2012, in a 2–0 win over St Johnstone.[2] On 23 August 2012, in only his second appearance he made his European debut as a substitute in a 1–0 defeat to Liverpool at Tynecastle.[3] His first goal for Hearts came on 18 January 2014, in a thrilling 3–3 draw against St Johnstone at McDiarmid Park.[4]
Carrick had joined Raith Rovers on 30 January 2015, on a one-month loan deal.[5] The loan was cut short on 11 February, as a result of Carrick suffering an injury.[6]
On 8 July 2015, Carrick left Hearts to pursue regular first team football, with his contract having been terminated by mutual consent.[7][8] He then signed a three-year contract with Kilmarnock.[9]
After one season with Killie, Carrick signed for Scottish League One side Livingston in July 2016.[10] On 26 January 2017, Carrick moved on loan to Scottish League Two club Cowdenbeath for the remainder of the 2016–17 season.[11]
Scotland
Carrick has represented Scotland at under-16 level. He made his debut in an International Challenge match against Jersey on 18 August 2009[12] and made four appearances in total.[13]
