It is said in this article that Dart and WIGAN used to be one house. This is true, But they fail to bring up the fact that they were separate houses before amalgamation. This was due to boarding numbers declining in the mid to late 90's. Victuallers 17:18, 13 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Rewrite needed?

As it stands, the article is heavy on notes about house rivalry and sporting achievements. Isn't there somebody familiar with the school who can rewrite it so that it gives a more complete picture? (I'm not sure that details of how often Butler-Krome won the swimming belong here.)

Notable alumni

I've added some of these, but I'm aware that they are all Old Boys, sorry. Can someone now add some women from Queen's and beyond? Lyn50 10:39, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

House Paring needs verification

If I remember correctly, Dart was not pared with Woodbridge. In fact, every Day House was pared with a Boarding house. Things may have changed since 1989 though...

The house pairing is correct. Serac72 (talk) 15:55, 20 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Protected

Right folks, let's stop tussling. I have protected it for three days. This should not be hard to reference. I will alert wikiproject Australia. Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 01:15, 28 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for flagging this for the folks at the Australia wikiproject - but let's be clear: this is unreferenced material. It is not a "content dispute" - it is vandalism by a single-purpose account. See Wikipedia:Verifiability: "The burden to demonstrate verifiability lies with the editor who adds or restores material, and is satisfied by providing a citation to a reliable source that directly supports the contribution."
Hopefully the Australia Wikiproject will produce sources speedily. If not, that unreferenced material needs to go. Neutralitytalk 01:34, 28 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Ballarat Grammar SchoolBallarat Grammar – The school would prefer the wiki page title and page uri to move from 'Ballarat Grammar School' to 'Ballarat Grammar'. The change is a decision from the Headmasters PA. Do not sign this. 49.194.160.38 (talk) 23:14, 26 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Ballarat Grammar SchoolBallarat Grammar – This article should be moved from "Ballarat Grammar School" to "Ballarat Grammar". The Government Agency of the Victorian Registration & Qualifications Authority states the official trading name of this education provider as "Ballarat Grammar", and only states "Ballarat Grammar School" as the name of the main campus.[1] This is an article about more than just the main campus, and so must be moved to the proper trading name. ASIC statest that the school has the Business Name of "Ballarat Grammar"[2]. The top of the school's [bgs.vic.edu.au | website] has a logo that only has the words "Ballarat Grammar" on it. The title of the homepage of the website use "Ballarat Grammar" as apposed to "Ballarat Grammar School". Also, at the bottom of the website we can see that the copyright of the website belongs to "Ballarat Grammar"[3].

Oppose. If anything the page should be renamed Ballarat And Queen's Anglican Grammar School, as per the school's registration with the Australian Business Register and the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission. Cavalryman V31 (talk) 05:54, 13 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
The school also has the Business Name of "Ballarat Grammar" [1]. The ACNC lists "Ballarat Grammar" as another name (but not Ballarat Grammar School) [2]. ThomasBur (talk) 01:59, 14 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your response but I remain unconvinced, I continue to oppose the name change. Kind regards, Cavalryman V31 (talk) 06:05, 14 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know what a "trading name" is, and I don't understand the comment about this article being about more than the one campus. This article seems to be about a school that has one main campus. Lower level students make some use of a farm, and upper level students spend a short time at a different location, but this does not sound to me like a multi-campus school. Australian Schools Directory cannot be used as a source, they are completely unofficial, and they state in their Disclaimer: "Future Media Group endeavours to produce a comprehensive, informative website, however Future Media Group warns Users of this website that it cannot, and therefore does not, guarantee the accuracy, completeness or currency of all information and material on this website.". Also, the top of the school's [bgs.vic.edu.au website] has a logo that only has the words "Ballarat Grammar" on it. Also, at the bottom of the website we can see that the copyright of the website belongs to "Ballarat Grammar". ThomasBur (talk) 01:59, 14 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Even the school itself does not use "Ballarat Grammar" exclusively. The same page you pointed uses the full legal name "BALLARAT AND QUEEN’S ANGLICAN GRAMMAR SCHOOL" twice, and the URL "bgs" obviously stands for Ballarat Grammar School. Provide some independent sources showing that the common name for the school is "Ballarat Grammar". Meters (talk) 06:57, 14 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
A trading name is "is a pseudonym used by companies to perform their business under a name that differs from the registered, legal name of the business". The name of the main campus according to the State Registry is "Ballarat Grammar School", but the organisation of the schools is more than just the name of their main campus. ThomasBur (talk) 01:59, 14 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I've already explained why I don't see this as an article about a multi-campus school. Meters (talk) 06:57, 14 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
