Born This Way is an American reality television series, Emmy Award winning series produced by Bunim-Murray Productions, featuring seven adults with Down Syndrome who work hard to achieve goals and overcome obstacles.[1][2] It is being renewed for a third season.
Cast
- Rachel Osterbach works in a mailroom for an insurance company. She is known on the show for her kindness and sweet nature. Diagnosed with pre-diabetes the show has focused on her positive attitude as she gets back into shape. Spends much of the time hoping to find love. Her favorite music artist is Adam Lambert.[citation needed]
- Sean McElwee is good at sports, and is particularly excellent in golf. He has a crush on his best friend's girlfriend. He loves to drink a beer and hang out with his friend, Steven. Sean is in the process of moving out of his parents' home.[citation needed]
- John Tucker is pursuing a career as a rap artist. He attends a high school where he focuses on rapping and dancing.[citation needed]
- Steven Clark works in Anaheim as a dishwasher and customer service agent at a grocery store. He says that he prefers to think of Down Syndrome as more like "Up Syndrome", the name of the premiere episode.[citation needed]
- Cristina Sanz is a young woman who works at a middle school. She has a fiancé named Angel.[citation needed]
- Megan Bomgaars is an entrepreneur who has created her own clothing line under the brand Megology and is looking to become a film producer. She is visiting Los Angeles and hoping to transfer to a college there. She is struggling to be independent from her mother, and has goals of living in her own apartment, getting married, and the much discussed and debated having a baby one day.[citation needed]
- Elena Ashmore is a young woman who lives on her own and is proud of her independence. She also attends high school with John Tucker and loves to dance.[citation needed]
