In my view, the new picture of a white flower is not necessary. There is already a better picture of a white form in the gallery. However, if there is a concensus that it must stay I would ask that the contributor makes corrections to the colour balance of the picture, which is way too orange, and crops it so that the flower is at the centre. Catharanthus roseus is the best-known and most commonly cultivated species in the genus, and most of the information on this species can already be found under Madagascar periwinkle (which name is also used for the species C. roseus, and probably more commonly than "rosy periwinkle"). Unless this article can become a lot more comprehensive, I would recommend redirecting to the Madagascar periwinkle article (or better yet, redirect both to Catharanthus). In October 2013, an unregistered user changed the common name to "Madagascar rosy periwinkle", apparently by combining "madagascar periwinkle" with "rosy periwinkle". This is an extremely obscure "common" name and I'm surprised this change was never caught. I've changed it back, and also added "vinca", a very common name for this plant in the USA. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 73.163.37.254 (talk) 00:21, 3 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

White flower

In my view, the new picture of a white flower is not necessary. There is already a better picture of a white form in the gallery. However, if there is a concensus that it must stay I would ask that the contributor makes corrections to the colour balance of the picture, which is way too orange, and crops it so that the flower is at the centre.
