Hi how are you? I'm here want to ask you if you can make a new channel for Indonesian-related discussions. Recently we badly need it as the collaboration and project are getting more complicated. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Dear Mr. Forrester,

I believe User:Ew is using sockpuppet User:Naconkantari to make morer than three reverts to Kosovo article.
http://en.wikipedia.org/enwiki/w/index.php?title=Kosovo&action=history

You can see that he switch from Ew to Naconkantari and make same revert. Reason I believe that he use sockpuppet is also because both Ew and Naconkantari contribs have strange habit to make all edit '''m''' minor edit.
http://en.wikipedia.org/enwiki/w/index.php?title=Special:Contributions&target=Evv
http://en.wikipedia.org/enwiki/w/index.php?title=Special:Contributions&target=Naconkantari

At very least, could you please inform user:Ew that is it not proper to make edits that change whole meaning of articles and call it minor edit.

Thank you [[User:Bosna|Bosna]] 04:24, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

Nice edits, we weren't trying too hard yet because it's still a very beta page. It's very Google-beta though, as since we're not considering it "Ready for Prime Time yet," it's still referenced often. Thanks for helping with the cleanup. :) ~Kylu (u|t) 19:43, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

OK, well, every little helps. ;-)

Research Approval by Wikimedia?

Hi James, Your "to do" list seems very long! A heads up: I sent an email to your jdforrester.org email account asking if Wikimedia has a process for approving academic research projects. I included some description of my project. My project will be under review soon by my university's Institutional Review Board. For my IRB application, I need to either provide a letter from WM or be able to state that such a letter is not necessary as it is not a general practice of WM. My project will follow various practices to protect the privacy and confidentiality of information of study participants. Does or does not WM review projects and send out letters of approval and permission for academic research projects? Thanks very much, Reswik 16:44, 27 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome!

Welcome!
File:World map.gif

Hi, and welcome to the Countries WikiProject! As you may have guessed, we're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of counties.

There are a variety of interesting things to do within the project; you're free to participate however much—or little—you like:

  • Starting some new articles? See some model pages such as Cambodia!
  • Want to know how good our articles are? The assessment department is working on rating the quality of every country article in Wikipedia.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask another fellow member, and we'll be happy to help you. Again, welcome! We look forward to seeing you around! Shy1520 10:26, 22 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Umm... OK.

Prime Minister of Spain

Hi James,

I notice in May you made the move President of the Government (Spain) to Prime Minister of Spain.

Since there is also an article List of Presidents of the Government (Spain), please could you also move that for consistency? The correct title should be List of Prime Ministers of Spain, similar to List of Prime Ministers of Belgium, List of Prime Ministers of France, List of Prime Ministers of Canada, List of Prime Ministers of the United Kingdom etc.

Thanks — SteveRwanda 16:53, 14 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Done.
James F. (talk) 09:56, 16 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I am not totally convinced that the new title is appropriate. The rationale behind the former title could be found on the Spanish language denomination (Presidente del Gobierno, instead Primer Ministro). While I fully understand that the former is not a common name in English, that did not make it unintelligible either. I personally believe that it would be better to restore the previous article title (or better rename it as President of the Government of Spain) and create redirects for the Prime Minister's. The terminology "President of the Government of Spain" is favoured by the UN and the White House.[1] [2] Your thoughts? --Asteriontalk 20:33, 20 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

DLR templates

I don't really, as an editor, get the purpose of these templates.

Hmm. You know, I really can't remember why I created those two years ago. :-) Maybe they were used more frequently?

Arbitration case

An arbitration case has been submitted to review the actions surround the recent Giano case on AN. I've listed you as an involved party, and you may wish to view the case here. --InkSplotch 18:06, 22 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

IRC cloak

Greetings. I hear you're the person to speak to about IRC cloaking. WP:ICV says so and hopefully I followed all of the steps on that page. Let me know otherwise. Thanks!  :) —Wknight94 (talk) 22:48, 23 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

BTW, my ID has been the ultra-creative "Wknight94" with "Wknight94b" as a backup. Let me know if any other info is needed. Thanks. —Wknight94 (talk) 12:57, 24 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello,

An Arbitration case involving you has been opened: Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Giano. Please add any evidence you may wish the arbitrators to consider to the evidence sub-page, Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Giano/Evidence. You may also contribute to the case on the workshop sub-page, Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Giano/Workshop.

Hello

I have filed a checkuser for User:Afrika paprika and User:Zrinski, however got no responce at WP:RFCU. I was told to ask you if you can do anything 'bout it. Thanks in advance. --HolyRomanEmperor 16:21, 25 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Seeing as you are named as a party in this case, it might be wise to recuse. ;) - Mgm|(talk) 07:25, 27 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
