The VUHL 05 is a lightweight sports car in the B segment, first presented in 2013 at the Royal Automobile Club in London.[1] At the beginning of its production, the car was assembled in Canada, tested in the United States and United Kingdom and returned to Mexico, where the final detaails were made,[2] subsequently, the production of the vehicle was started in July 2015 at its new plant in Querétaro.[3]
Characteristics
The body of the car is made of reinforced RTM plastic with carbon fiber option, mounted on a subsidized aluminum chassis (aluminum honeycomb with 6061-T6 aluminum extrusions). It has a 240-hp 2,000 cc four-cylinder engine, with an option of 285 HP similar to the previous one but with an optimized induction system and recalibrated ECU. It is at a distance of 110 mm from the ground and its static weight distribution is 37% at the front and 63% at the back. With the 285 HP engine it reaches a maximum speed of 245 km / h and accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.7 seconds, it also achieves a braking of 100 to 0 km / h in 31.6 meters, thanks to its perforated discs of 310 mm Front wheels and ventilated 280 mm in the rear wheels.[4]
VUHL 05 RR
On June 13, 2016 was presented at the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2016 the VUHL 05RR, that will be placed on the range of the VUHL 05 of series and will be totally legal for highway. The VUHL 05 RR has a weight of 640 kg, thanks to its construction in aluminum and carbon and to its wheels 100% of carbon fiber. It has a 2.3 l Ford EcoBoost engine that offers a power of 385 HP, which allows you to accelerate from 0 to 60 MPH in 2.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 257 km / h.[5][6][7][8][9][10]
