Kaka's stats

Kakás transfer is the fourth most expensive since Zlatan Ibrahimovic move from Inter Milan to Barcelona 2009 was at 69M Euro. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.220.168.219 (talk) 14:13, 11 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Now I've corrected the his stats in the table. His AC Milan stats are 100% accurate as per the milan website, but I'm not sure about the sao paolo years i think has been adding random number to the table, especially to the 2002-03 season. All I did to the sao paolo years was correct the totals, i didnt add anything new, so someone should check out the accuracy of his sao paolo stats, especially for that season.--Muppeteer (talk) 22:46, 19 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Super! But wouldn't it be prefferable to have Kaka's stats following the most used template as per Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi ? The one used is rather large and, imo, ugly. Sandman888 (talk) 15:56, 21 January 2010 (UTC). The stats about 2010-11 are wrong. You haven't change the 51 app. to 52 yet and the 12 assist to 13 after the pass to Marcelo at the first goal of Real against Villaral(15/5/11) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tasos3222 (talkcontribs) 09:05, 16 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

6 goals 7 assits at 2012 not 9 assists! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tasos3222 (talkcontribs) 11:08, 5 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hat Tricks?! FALSE

This mentions Kakà had two hat tricks in the 2005-06 season. False. The first one is correct against Chievo. His first and only European hat trick, which was indeed against RSC Anderlecht, occurred during the FOLLOWING season i.e. 2006-07 at San Siro on Matchday 4 of the group stages of the UEFA Champions' League. Please fix this. 70.21.68.152 (talk) 06:49, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

RISING SUPERSTAR?!

Also, the part in the same section that mentions "the world taking notice of a superstar" is also dubios. Firstly, the phrasing is not very stylish which is relevant and does not per se fitt the biographical tone of this article, but secondly and most importantly, he already was a superstar. He had won the 2004-05 UEFA Best Midfielder Award before his hat trick against the Flying Donkeys, and he and Steven Gerrard (another superstar) were the so called "stars" of the 2005 Champions' League Final which included Kakà's sublime through ball to Hernan Crespo to put the Rossoneri 3-0 up in the 39th minute. Last, does the author really think that a hat-trick against Chievo on a regular Sunday afternoon game in Serie A is going to grab the footballing world's attention? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.21.76.3 (talk) 22:09, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please keep your dubious opinions to yourself. Kaka is a super-star whether you like to admit it or not. Your dubious opinions can be saved for a forum or something. Kaka has done far more than you can imagine. So please, think before you post. Gcarini (talk) 06:04, 8 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I think you missed the point. He admits that Kaka is a superstar. In fact, he cited a few examples to why Kaka is a superstar.
I must say, I am agree with him. "The football world was beginning to take notice of a superstar in the making" sounds very POV. And secondly, "beginning to take notice" implies that most people didnt realize it until then. Which was false.71.202.104.229 (talk) —Preceding undated comment was added at 07:37, 3 October 2008 (UTC).[reply]

Kaka's playing style

Hey guys, sorry but i tried to edit the page of Kaka because i wanted to write up on Kaka's playing style. I see that Ronaldo, or other players have this topic so i wanted to add for Kaka. But i believe that it is locked or semi-protected in case of vandalism. I am not doing any vandalism. I just want to enhance Kaka's profile on his playing style. Please tell me how to edit his page when it is semi-locked. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Zidanekaka (talkcontribs) 16:09, 24 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Manchester City

Should someone add something about the ongoing speculation that he will join Man. City, as it is becoming an ever greater possibility?

Liz Niña (talk) 17:07, 15 January 2009 (UTC)Liz Niña[reply]

If it is indeed "an ever greater possibility", then we can simply wait until it actually happens, since Wikipedia is not a crystal ball, so no speculation. If a transfer actually happens, sure, we can mention it, but otherwise, we can wait until the transfer window closes and we can have a sentence or two about the offer. --Mosmof (talk) 17:42, 15 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

According to the beeb, he is talking to man city. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/default.stm —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.225.86.112 (talk) 21:42, 15 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

While we shouldn't speculate, the fact that it has been front/back page news for several days is worth mentioning in itself. Even if the deal falls through, or turns out to be for a much lower amount, it is still worth noting the widespread media speculation of a ~£100m transfer fee, given the reaction is has provoked. ed g2stalk 13:18, 16 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Globo.com reports Man. City raised the offer to € 243 million and he accepted [1] —Preceding unsigned comment added by 201.78.60.79 (talk) 10:52, 16 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Why would Kaka accept because City raised the fee? The transfer fee is between clubs - the player and the club negotiate personal terms. I think you misread the article. --Mosmof (talk) 15:33, 16 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think that is what he meant, I think he meant they're 2 different things

Someone please fix this page. Kaka is still a Milan player and hopefully will never be a Man City player. He is better than that. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Stvnlotr89 (talkcontribs) 07:20, 19 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

With every passing hour its more and more unlikely that Kaka' is going to leave, so I think you should remove the bits about Man City until a transfer becomes official. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 154.5.134.172 (talk) 20:14, 19 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

ITS OVER, NOW REMOVE ALL GARBAGE ABOUT MAN CITY AND THE EPL FROM KAKA's WIKI —Preceding unsigned comment added by 142.58.91.70 (talk) 23:01, 19 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The bid is still notable even though it now looks like the transfer is not happening anytime soon. The paragraph in question is well sourced and not particularly long, so there is no reason to get rid of it from the article just because it makes a few AC Milan fans unhappy that he might have left, or might still do.Lord Cornwallis (talk) 01:11, 20 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed. Failed transfer bids generally aren't notable, but with a potentially record breaking offer that got as far as the player and the club discussing terms, there's no way not to talk about it. --Mosmof (talk) 01:42, 20 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

According to the Wiki it said Kaka declined an offer, however, according to City no offer had been made yet. City and Kaka hadn't even talked yet and according to City, they pulled the plug themselves, not Kaka. Please update this onto the page, as there are two stories to this and you can be certain that this will go on for another few days, or until the transfer period is over.

Kaka transfer fee

I haven't done any editing on wikipedia at all but I'm sure Kaka's transfer fee wasn't £14m. According to BBC Football he was £4.25m (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/europe/7290977.stm) while according to FootballDatabase.com he was €8.5m (http://www.footballdatabase.com/index.php?page=player&Id=1042&b=true). Saying £14m is a HUGE margin of error that should probably be fixed up. Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by ItsFootballNotSoccer (talkcontribs) 06:05, 16 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Done I've updated it with a new source, since the FIFAWorldcup.com site is down now. --Mosmof (talk) 07:29, 16 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

kaka might be going to man city for a world record fee of 108 million pounds and getting paid about 500,000 pounds in the transfer windows january 2009.It has been lots off newspaer headlines SAYING'108 MILLION POUNDS,HAS MAN CITY GONE KAKA'. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.8.117.99 (talk) 12:29, 17 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Position - forward, midfielder, or both/neither?

I changed his position in the infobox to "forward" a while back, because I saw him listed in the first team listing. Then, I reverted a recently undid an edit that changed him to midfielder, and then I saw his profile page, which lists him as a midfielder. So even his club isn't sure if he's a midfielder or a forward (FWIW, UEFA lists him as a forward).

Given the above, I changed the intro to "is a Brazilian footballer who plays as forward and midfielder for Italian Serie A club A.C. Milan and the Brazilian national team". Is this okay? What I don't like about it is that it implies that he plays multiple positions, but that's not the case - it's a matter of how the observer interprets his role and place on the field. Yet I'm not sure if there's a better way to say it without getting too wordy or resorting to WP:OR.

I guess the problem is that he never plays as an out-and-out striker, but he always plays in front of the midfielders and generally links up with the lone striker, so he's neither a pure forward or a midfielder. --Mosmof (talk) 06:36, 22 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Pronunciation in lead

Does anyone know how to clean up the IPA in the first sentence, so it doesn't have a big gap after it before the semi-colon? I can't work it out at all. --hippo43 (talk) 15:34, 1 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Paragraph edit

{{editprotected}} If an admin is willing to bite, the following section of a paragraph at the end of the Milan section, which discussed the Kaka-to-Man-City rumors, needs to be edited:

Recently the English national team and Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard told the British press that the only footballer he would pay to watch was Kaká. Considering Lampard's status as a fellow professional footballer the statement was truly a high recognition.[21] On May 2009, Kaká was named as the only footballer in the peoples list of Time 100, which covers the most influential people of the world.[22] On May 22, 2009, Paolo Maldini, the then captain of Milan announced his retirement from football, adding that he had already decided that his succesor as the captain of Milan would be Kaká.

Not only is it laden with proseline ("On this date, on that date"), none of the information therein (save for his Time 100 award) is remotely relevant. It's merely composed of players' opinions, and some past editor's shameless gushing over Lampard - "Considering Lampard's status as a fellow professional footballer the statement was truly a high recognition" - speaks for itself.

Don't call people idiots for jumping the gun; IP editors do it all the time. – Toon(talk) 17:50, 4 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Well yea people, the deal is done and they will officially present him as a real madrid player on monday. But FREAKING WAIT UNTIL THEN to edit the page.

I was about to say why is this article stating that he's a AC Milan player when he's signed a contract with Madrid and the only reason he has not been 'officially' unveiled is because his country, Brazil, will not allow him to leave the training complex. His future won't be known on Monday as it's already pre-determined. Dose a player really need to 'officially' be unveiled to constitute Wikipedia's editors stating his new team? Of course not! Can we not accept a statement from Madrid, Perez, the player himself, his agent (dad), and the Milan vice-president to constitute that he's now a Madrid player? Dose the player have to literally hold up a shirt just for Wikipedia to trust in something? If Wikipedia needs to go to these silly lengths then it just proves it is not a encyclopedia at all. A further edition is this. Why is it OKAY to presume a team is relegated when the season's not over and it's far from mathematically certain but not to trust in reliable evidence that this player will be a Madrid player on Monday? It is blatant HYPOCRISY!!!

"Influential Playmaker"

Opening section states Kaka is an "influential playmaker for Real Madrid". Seems the club name has just been changed, and I know that may be how he's played in the past, but how can this be known to be true when he hasn't played a game for the club yet? Seems presumptuous. --93.96.19.132 (talk) 21:27, 1 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've taken it out, and not for the first time. It's a subjective statement that informs very little, because people have different definitions for "playmaker". --Mosmof (talk) 21:57, 1 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The first paragraph of the "Milan" section compares his "average mark" to the "ratings" of other well-known players. Kaká's personal life

You guys should add on 'Personal Life' what Kaká announced on his personal, VERIFIED, Twitter account last Wednesday, December 8th. His Tweet was the following: "RealKaka: It´s with great joy, that I confirm that my lovely wife @cacelico is pregnant of our 2nd child !! Now it's a girl !!" — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kelly0528 (talkcontribs) 06:00, 16 December 2010 (UTC) Thi sis not the only good thing but Kaka and his wife are back together .[reply]

Wrong date!!

"3-2 victory over Getafe on January 3, 2010." Its not 2010. Its 2011. 3 days back. Under the Real Madrid tag, it has been put up as shown in quotes. Please change the the date to "January 3, 2011." — Preceding unsigned comment added by SridharAshokk (talkcontribs) 19:27, 5 January 2011 (UTC)  Done[reply]

Two problems, actually. First, it's licensed "All rights reserved" on Flickr. Second, it's a copyright violation - the photo is stolen from Getty Images. --Mosmof (talk) 19:46, 8 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Under the Real Madrid Section, there is a sentence that states "After an eight-month absence, Kaká returned to play as a substitute for Karim Benzema on the 77th minute of a 3-2 victory over Getafe on January 3, 2010. He said he was "(...) happy for playing a game again and for stepping onto a pitch."" The Date, January 3, 2010 is incorrect and should be changed to the correct date, January 3, 2011. 71.49.221.68 (talk) 10:04, 8 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Edit Personal Life

Not to sound like a douche bag or anything, but can someone at least mention that one of the main reasons why the "ká" syllable in Kaká is stressed is because in Iberoamerican Spanish slang there's a word ""caca"" that refers to shit?

Don't know if this needs a citation or not, but just a head up in case some moron changes his name to that word as a joke that non-Spanish speakers don't understand.108.54.62.227 (talk) 22:24, 27 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

12 AUG 2017 -- MLS video review gives Kaka red card for joking incident with Aurelien Collin

Kaka was shown a red card following a bizarre video review deep into stoppage time of Orlando City's loss to the New York Red Bulls.

Time was winding down with the Red Bulls leading 3-1 when players from both sides came together with some light pushing and shoving.

As the teams were beginning to separate, Kaka jokingly put his hands around the mouth of New York's Aurelien Collin from behind.

Collin and Kaka were teammates before Orlando traded the French defender to New York last year, and they laughed off the incident immediately.

However, MLS's new video replay system was called into play, and referee Jorge Gonzalez checked to see if the play was reviewable, then consulted a video screen on the sideline.

After a consultation, it was decided that Kaka should be sent off for violent conduct, while Orlando's Cristian Higuita and New York's Sean Davis were shown yellow cards for the initial confrontation.

"Obviously the referees don't know that Ricky and Aurelien are close friends, but when they look back at it and they see each other smiling -- I don't know, the referee is doing what he's got to do. A little bit unfortunate," goalkeeper Joe Bendik told the Orlando Sentinel. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Frankieng (talkcontribs) 08:27, 13 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Madrid fee

Regarding the fee, not sure 67 or 68.6 should be the final fee. As Milan wrote in their expense regarding loss of capital gains on selling players due to “meccanismo di solidarietà” (Solidarity contribution) in their financial report, the following word was used:

nonché dall’accollo del 50% del costo di spettanza della società Real Madrid

C.F. a seguito di accordi contrattuali conseguenti la cessione del calciatore "Kakà"

Izecson Dos Santos Leite Ricardo alla società stessa.

Milan was eligible to receive part of the solidarity contribution, but google translate not good for above text, as well as it was going into the zone of WP:OR to determine the solidarity contribution to Sao Paulo was included or excluded to the aforementioned €67 million fee or not, so which fee should be used?
