Swaragini — Jodein Rishton Ke Sur (English: Swaragini — Joins the Melody of Relationships) commonly abbreviated as Swaragini is an Indian television series, which premiered on 2 March 2015[citation needed] and airs Monday to Friday on Colors TV. Later it started on Rishtey[clarify] from 14 December 2015 and airs Monday to Sunday. It is also dubbed in Arabic and aired on MBC Bollywood under the name ومن الحب ما قتل (Translation: And There is Murderous Love)

This serial has been dubbed in Tamil on Raj TV as Ganga Yamunaa and premiered on 6 June 2016 replacing the longest-running Tamil serial Sindhu Bhairavi.

Swaragini is based on the bittersweet relationship between two half-sisters, Swara and Ragini. Helly Shah, Tejaswi Prakash Wayangankar, Varun Kapoor, and Namish Taneja play the lead roles of Swara, Ragini, Sanskaar, and Lakshya respectively.

This show ended on 14 December 2016, completing 469 episodes.[2]

Plot

In Kolkata, Swara hails from a Bengali family(Bose family) and Ragini belongs to a Marwari family(Gadodia family). Both families are neighbors, but Swara and Ragini's grandmothers don't get along. Swara and Ragini are half sisters; Swara's mother and Ragini's father were in a secret relationship in the past. Swara comes to know this truth, so she and Ragini get their parents married.

Laksh, Ragini's fiancé, helps them to do this. Ragini loves Laksh but calls off their marriage because he doesn't want to marry her; he secretly loves Swara. Ragini begins to hate Swara when the latter starts loving Laksh back. Swara and Laksh get engaged. There enters Sanskaar, Laksh's cousin, who pretends to be mentally ill to get revenge from Laksh and his father because he thinks they're behind his girlfriend Kavita's death. Ragini comes to know about Sanskaar's truth and starts helping him ruin Swara and Laksh's relationship. Shobha comes to know about this but she meets with an accident and goes into coma.

Swara comes to know about Sanskaar's truth, clears his misunderstanding and makes him realise his mistake. Sanskaar apologizes to everyone. Ragini tricks Laksh and marries him by making Laksh believe that Swara betrayed him. Shobha returns from coma and reveals Ragini's truth to everybody but nobody believes her. Sharmishtha and Shekhar are separated because Sharmishtha believes Swara and Shekhar trusts Ragini. Swara enters Laksh's house by marrying Sanskaar.

Laksh comes to know about Ragini's truth. Soon, Swara, Sanskaar and Laksh expose Ragini. Sharmishtha and Shekhar reunite and their daughters return to them. Ragini fakes memory loss to go back to Laksh. Swara also returns to Sanskaar. Laksh wants a relationship with Swara but she has already moved on.

Ragini manipulates Sanskaar and Laksh's mothers against Swara by making it look like she is two timing their sons. Later, Ragini is exposed and Swara kicks her out of the house. Ragini is nowhere to be found, but Laksh kidnaps Ragini and after Ragini is found, he tries to frame Swara. He eventually goes to jail.

Later, Ragini's grandmother make Laksh'a father promise that Ragini will be the owner of all the wealth for Laksh not to be in jail. He agrees. Swara falls in love with Sanskaar. Swara steals the property papers, replaces them with fake ones and tells Laksh's father her plan. Ragini realises the papers are fake and demands the real ones from Swara who refuses to tell. Ragini threatens Dugra Prasad that if Swara doesn't bring the real papers she will tell everyone about his secret. Dugra Prasad asks Swara to give her the real papers, Swara agrees and Ragini signs the papers. Ragini starts threatening the family. Swara doesn't want to divorce Sanskaar, but Ragini tricks Swara by threatening Dugra Prasad to make Swara sign the papers. Swara signs the papers. Swara leaves the Maheshwari house, but is concerned about Dugra Prasad's secret.

Swara comes to know about Dugra Prasad's secret and exposes the truth to the family before Ragini. There returns Sanskaar's girlfriend Kavita who wasn't dead. Kavita had been in coma for two years. Kavita and Sanskaar get engaged, but Kavita comes to know that Swara and Sanskaar love each other and calls off her engagement with Sanskaar. Kavita starts planning and plotting against Swara with the help of Janki's sister Urvashi. Urvashi hates Sharmishtha because she thinks that Sharmishtha is behind her sister's death. Kavita and Urvashi's plan fails. Swara and Ragini reunite because Ragini thinks that Laksh loves her while he is faking that he loves her and tricks Ragini into signing the divorce papers. Swara and Sanskaar get married. But Laksh gets married to Kavya betraying Ragini. Kavya is evil but soon gets exposed and gets arrested by the police. Later Laksh realises his mistake and falls in love with Ragini. Ragini and Laksh get remarried and consummate their marriage. Swara and Sanskaar consummate their marriage as well.

Laksh and Sanskaar's brother Adarsh's wife Parineeta gets jealous of Ragini and Swara because of limelight they are getting into. Parineeta starts kitchen politics. Sanskaar's sister Uttara falls in love with Rajat. Rajat only wants to get married to Uttara only for her wealth. Swara comes to know about Rajat's truth. Swara tells Ragini, Lakshya, and Sanskaar about Rajat. Uttara and Rajat's marriage is called off. Later Rajat kidnaps Swara and Sanskaar leaves after them. After Sanskaar reaches them, Swara is in Rajat's hands and she asks him to shoot him. Sanskaar shoots Rajat and he falls off the cliff pulling Swara with him.

====6 month leap====

Swara is saved by rockstar Sahil Sengupta. Swara is saved and regains consciousness but she loses her memory. Swara returns to her parents' house with Sahil. She only remembers Ragini, Shobha and Sharmishtha. She doesn't remember Sanskaar. Sahil falls in love with Swara and he comes to know that Swara has married Sanskaar. Sahil tells Sanskaar that he will reunite them. But he only wants Swara's love. He is making a bad picture of Sanskaar in front of Swara. Later Swara gets her memory back. Sahil kidnaps Swara and wants to marry her. Sahil's plan failed. Sahil's mother Maya helps Swara, Ragini, Lakshya, and Sanskaar. He gets arrested and goes away from Swara and Sanskaar's life.

Sharmishtha is pregnant but Parvati is against her pregnancy. The Maheshwari family is also against her pregnancy. Ragini fakes that she is pregnant so that Ragini and Lakshya can adopt her baby. Ragini wants to tell Swara about her fake pregnancy but fails. Because of Parineeta, Ragini's fake pregnancy is out in front of family. Swara and Sanskaar support her but the Maheshwari family is upset and angry with Ragini. After some trials the family forgives her. And they live as they did before. Sharmishtha falls down in her house and is admitted to the hospital. The doctor tells the family that Sharmishtha has had a miscarriage. But actually, Parvati had given money to a nurse to lie to them. Parvati had given Sharmishtha's baby to a beggar. Parineeta starts blackmailing Ragini. Parineeta is missing and her mother Sulekha comes to the Maheshwari house to find her. She requests Swara to help her in finding Parineeta. But Ragini, Annapurna and Sujata stop her. Swara comes to know that Sharmishtha's baby is alive and finds out about Parvati's plan.
