The Hyundai Getz (also sold as the Hyundai Click or Hyundai TB) is a small hatchback car produced by the Hyundai Motor Company. It is available in 2 and 4 door (3,82m) body types, and with a 4-speed automatic transmission or 5-speed manual transmission. It is available in 1.1, 1.4 (replacing the original 1.3) 1.6 litre petrol engines and a 1.5 litre turbodiesel engine (available engine options vary depending on market).
A facelift for the 2006 model year saw the Getz receive a 4 cylinder 1.5 litre diesel option, upgraded dash and interior facia and trim, new front and rear styling, and driver and front passenger air bags and also side airbags as standard.
Safety
In Australia, the 2002-04 Hyundai Getz was assessed in the Used Car Safety Ratings 2006 as providing "significantly worse than average" protection for its occupants in the event of a crash.[1].
Conversely, the car received a respectable 4 stars (out of five) in its 2004 EuroNCAP crash tests. It turned in what EuroNCAP described as a "reasonably balanced performance" and "generally good" in-car protection for children. It was noted, however, that the design of the car did little to protect pedestrians.
Perhaps as a reflection of buyer priorities, ABS brakes and a passenger airbag are extra-cost options on some models in some markets. The South African market version, for example, is not available with side airbags at any price and makes do without a third three-point seatbelt on the rear seat.
