Dr Fondem Neba (born Fontem Aforteka’a Neba) Is an Anglophone Cameroonian University lecturer,author and an activist who is the Secretary General of the banned Cameroon Anglophone Civil Society Consortium (CACSC),[2] he was the Secretary General of teachers’ trade union of the University of Buea (SYNES) before his arrest on 17 of January, 2017 for staging peaceful protest in the defend of Anglophone Cameroon Common law system of education.[3][4] He is the author of English Language Mastery and Academic Success which was launched on June 18 2015.[5][6]
Early life and career
Dr Neba Fontem was born Fontem Aforteka’a Neba) nothing has been published about his early life and his real date of birth. He holds a Phd at University of Ibadan in Nigeria, he is a Linguist,lecturer,author and an activist[7]He is the aurthor English Language Mastery and Academic Success [8][9] He was the Secretary General of teachers’ trade union of the University of Buea (SYNES) before his arrest on 17 of January, 2017[10][11] and the Secretary General of the banned Cameroon Anglophone Civil Society Consortium (CACSC).
Arrest
On 17 January, 2017, it was reported that Fondem Neba was arrested alongside Barrister Agbor Balla,Ayah Paul Abine in Buea by Cameroon’s police ordered by the govenment . His arrest came few days after Anglophone Civil Society Consortium (CACSC) which was banned and described it activities illegal in Cameroon. [12][13] [14]See details Anglophone problem (Cameroon).
