R. L. Boyce (Born August 15, 1955) is an American blues singer, songwriter, and guitarist born and raised in Como, Mississippi, home of the north Mississippi Hill country blues legend Mississippi Fred McDowell. [1]

Boyce began his career in the early 60's playing drums for his uncle, the famed Fife and Drum music artist Othar Turner. [2]

His debut full length album, entitled Ain't the Man's Alright was released when he was 52 years old and features noteworthy musicians including Cedric Burnside, Luther Dickinson, and Calvin Jackson. [3]
