On 15 September 2017, an explosion occurred on a District line train. At least twenty people have been injured.[1]. It is currently being treated as a terrorist attack.[2]. The explosion occured at around 8.20am.

Background

Several attacks have occurred in Britain in the past few months, such as the March 2017 Westminster attack, the May 2017 Manchester attack, and the June 2017 London Bridge attack.

Attack

The attack occurred near Parsons Green tube station, in West London.[3] The blast sent a fireball and a wall of flame through a packed rush-hour train. Numerous passengers were reported to have suffered facial burns.[2] As of yet, there is no report of any deaths.

Reactions

In a statement after the incident, British Prime Minister Theresa May said: "My thoughts are with those injured at Parsons Green and the emergency services who, once again, are responding swiftly and bravely to a suspected terrorist incident."[4]
