Mahend is a Village in Ghazipur in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.it is a major village of the region. The majority of the residents of the village are muslim pathan and small ratio of other religion and castes.The literacy rate of the village is 87%,Higher than the Average literacy rate of india.The village is situated on the both sides of the river mangai and has rich variety of plants and vegetation.The village has a Allahabad Bank branch which is the only bank in its near by region. There are 3 schools,1intermediate college and one Islamic Madrasa in the village.The village has a Population of nearly 27000. The majority of the residents are either in civil services or are in gulf countries for job where as some of them are interested in Agriculture.

There are 8 Mosques and 1 central mosque called (juma masjid) for Friday prayers as the majority of the population are muslims as well as it has 2 Temples. This is the birthplace of bollywood actor Yunus Parvez
