Liza Japaridze (Georgian: ლიზა ჯაფარიძე; born 19 September 2003), better known by her stage name Lizi Pop (Georgian: ლიზი პოპი) is a Georgian child singer, she represented Georgia in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2014 in Malta with the song "Happy Day".[1]

Early life

Liza Japaridze was born on September 19, 2003. She studies at the Georgian- American school. She can speak three foreign languages: English, Russian and French. She also loves sports and is a 5th green belt holder in Karate .

Junior Eurovision

In 2014, Lizi went to Malta on JESC 2014. Her result was the worst result for Georgia in JESC. She was 11th. In her interview she said: "I didn't want to win, I want all kids, in every continent, in country, in every family to be happy and joyful in their lives."[This quote needs a citation]

Lizi then went on to present JESC 2017 in Tbilisi, Georgia following Georgia's win in 2016 with "Mzeo".

Career

Since 2011, she actively studies vocals in the BzikebiStudio led by Giga Kukhianidze whose songs represented Georgia at Junior Eurovision Song Contest (JESC) 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013. At JESC Lizi Pop will perform together with Sopho Dashniani (10 years old), Dea Dashniani (11 years old) (sisters of Nini Dashniani from Fun Kids), Kate Arbolishvili (12 years old) and Nita Lomidze (11 years old) as her backing vocalists/ dancers. Lizi has already released several hit singles, such as “Make up”, “Cloud” and New year song “Zgapari qalaqshi” with winners of JESC 2011 Candy. She has also starred in Bzikebi Studio musical film “Stapilo Story. Kurdgheli vs Mgeli”, performing the role of one of the rabbits. She has been joined by Dea and Sopho Dashniani as rabbits in this musical movie as well.
