Shine (an abbreviation of Still Here Ignoring Negative Energy) is the fifth studio album by American rapper Wale. It was released on April 28, 2017, by Maybach Music Group, Atlantic Records and Every Blue Moon. It was supported by 6 singles: "My PYT", "One Reason (Flex)", "Groundhog Day", "Running Back", "Fashion Week" and "Fish N Grits".[3]

Singles

The first single from the album, "My PYT", was released on May 20, 2016.[4] The music video for the track premiered on July 25, 2016.[5] The song has peaked at number 54 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart.[6]

"One Reason (Flex)" featuring American singer Eric Bellinger, was released as the second single on September 9, 2016.[7]

"Groundhog Day", which is a diss track to American rapper J. Cole, was released as the third single on December 13, 2016.[8] The music video for the song premiered on February 2, 2017.[9]

"Running Back" featuring American rapper Lil Wayne, was released as the fourth single on January 20, 2017.[10] The song's music video premiered on February 6, 2017.[11] It has peaked at number 100 on the Billboard Hot 100.[6]

The fifth single from the album, "Fashion Week" featuring American rapper G-Eazy, was released on February 24, 2017.[12] The music video for the track premiered on April 10, 2017.[13]

The album's sixth single, "Fish N Grits", was released on April 6, 2017 and features American rapper Travis Scott.[14]

Commercial performance

The album debuted at number 16 on the US Billboard 200, selling 28,000 album equivalent units in its first week.[15]
