Biographical Information

He was born in Abadan, one of the southern cities of Iran. Unlike other children, who usually look for their grandparents to tell them stories, he made up and told his own stories. He believes that Composition Writing classes in his junior high school are the first sparkles of inspiration in a writer’s life. He wrote some stories and plays in 1975-1980, which were burnt during the war between Iran and Iraq. His potential writing talent which was suppressed during the war suddenly bloomed and created many stories. He continued his writing stories and poems during those years and even practiced calligraphy and photography.

He has published over 80 books for children and young adults, especially in forms of novels, short stories, legends, fantasy, humor, biography, etc. He has also contributed to children’s and young adults’ press, such as Teen Soroush, Children’s Soroush, The Sunflower, Children’s Keyhan, etc. He has been a member of “Children Writers Association” and a member of the directing board. He is now working for Bicycle, one of the most circulated children magazine in Iran, accompanying Hamshahri Newspaper.

He has won many book awards, including several Book of the Year awards. And now in 2017 he is Iranian Nomination for “Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award”.
