Xanxerê is a city in Santa Catarina, Brazil. The Italian and German are the mainstream culture. They were brought by immigrants in the early twentieth century, through the migration of the "gauchos".

Today, the city is much more than the " Capital of the Corn ", whose productivity is national prominence. The city also increased in all industrial, commercial and service sectors, serving as a reference for all western Santa Catarina.

It is well located, favoring the trade via Mercosul and generating interest from various investors in the region.

Xanxerê is the headquarters of the Association of Cities of Alto Irani ( AMAI ), composed of 17 "municípios". According to IBGE, is one of the main SC cities, so it attracts investment from all branches, and is under constant development, being one of the fastest growing in the state and the ranks 22nd[clarification needed] in state economy.
