The Girl (Spanish: La niña) is a Colombian drama produced by CMO producciones for Caracol Televisión.[1] It is based on a true story that addresses the issue of minors in armed conflict and reintegration.[2][3] The series is available on Netflix as an original series, after acquiring the license rights.[4][5]

Plot

La niña, based on real-life facts, tells the story of a girl who has been forcibly recruited by the guerrillas. She experienced the horror of war first hand and after many years manages to leave the armed group to embark on a path of return to society that will not be easy for her. In the process of reintegration to the society she must face herself and her own family.

In the middle of an operation in which alias Sara and her two companions of the militia, Julio and Esteban, tried to reclaim a merchandise and money for its commander Roncancio, extorting a merchant in Villavicencio, arrive men sent by the Army to catch to young people. Sara tries to escape but in the end she is captured, beaten and taken to the Public Prosecutor's Office where she meets Tatiana Toquica, the person in charge of the reinsertion program, who convinces her to reveal her true age and to be protected as a minor.

After learning about the death of Major Roncancio in the midst of a bombing, Julio insists to Esteban that with more reason they must find Sara to take them to the place where the arms and the money of the guerrilla are buried. But not only are they interested in finding it, because Colonel Barragán discovers that she did not die in the bombings and that she can become a stone in the shoe if she comes to tell everything he did to her, so she asks her accomplice , Baron, to look for it wherever it leads.
