Heilan Home (Chinese: 海澜之家; pinyin: Hǎilán zhī Jiā) is short for HEILAN HOME CO.,LTD(Chinese: 海澜之家股份有限公司). HLA is an international retail brand for menswear. It is the main brand under the Heilan Group dealing with menswear, accessories and related products through an extensive network of retail stores. In July 2017, the first overseas HLA store was launched in MyTOWN Shopping Center, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. As of the middle of 2017, there have been 4376 HLA stores all over the world.

History

  3. The brand name HLA originates from HEILAN APPAREAL. From the opening of the first HLA store in Nanjing in September 2002 to the moment when it was successfully restructured and listed on April 11, 2014, HLA has become the largest enterprise among the garment sector of A share market with a total market value of over RMB70 billion. By the end of 2014, a total of 3348 HLA stores have been opened up successfully.[3]
  4. HLA ranked No. 373 on the Top 500 Chinese Enterprise released by Fortune in 2015, with gross turnover of RMB12.338 billion. HLA won the 3rd place in the ranking of return on equity (ROE) by 33.73%.

Founded in 2002, HLA is a Chinese multinational retail brand as it’s known as one-stop self-selection of menswear. HLA focuses on providing menswear consumers with fashionable designs, high quality products and an excellent shopping experience. It follows global fashion trends closely to create products that cater to a broad range of taste, aiming to provide a one-stop solution that satisfies the demands of menswear consumers.

2. Notable product lines, merchandising and collaborations

In April 2016, HLA joined hands with Oriental DreamWorks to create a themed menswear line to tie in with the Madagascar film franchise.

In September 2016, HLA cooperated with Xander Zhou - the first ethnic Chinese designer to feature at London Fashion Week, to create the brand’s first XANDER ZHOU×HLA limited collaborative series.

In the fall and winter of 2016, HLA sought to redefine the overcoat, taking an essential menswear staple and helping to provide more fashionable options to stay warm.

In the spring of 2017, HLA chose international top supermodel [null Sung Jin Park] as brand ambassador for the brand-new Denim collection.

3. Events

3.1 In September, 2002, the first store of “HLA” was formally opened on North Zhongshan Road, Nanjing.

3.3 In May 2016, as a representative of the Chinese fashion industry, HLA attended the “Chinese Style—Chinese-English Culture Exchange” held by the Royal College of Art in the UK.

3.4 In September 2016, HLA specially invited Chen Xiao, an actor from the mainland of China, to give a crossover show at the China-UK Art & Fashion Gala held in Jianfu Palace in Forbidden City. With a mix of Chinese and international supermodels, they demonstrated a range of high-end Chinese-style designs.

3.5 On July 15, 2017, the opening ceremony for HLA’s first store in Malaysia was held in MyTOWN Shopping Center, Kuala Lumpur. The launch was attended by Louis Zhou, the President of Heilan Group; YB Dato Chong Yoke Har, the Policy Division of Malaysian Ministry of Tourism and Culture Deputy Secretary-General; Joakim Hogsander, MyTOWN Shopping Centre General Manager; B.E Law, Malaysia Retailers Association Representative; and the event featured a performance by the famous singer Gary Chaw.

3.6 Charity activities

Starting in 2014, the “One Extra Gram of Warmth” initiative was established. The initiative, jointly initiated by HLA, the China Social Welfare Foundation’s “Warm Current Plan” and the Netease Platform aims to provide winter clothes for the teachers and students in the mountainous areas as this would bring together a few scattered and limited social initiatives. As of late 2016, the initiative ran successfully for 3 years, benefiting more than 200 schools in 19 provinces in China.

Heilan Home Co., Ltd. was founded on January 8, 1997, in Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province, China, and listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange in December 2000. The company mainly deals with R&D and the sale of new technologies, products and materials for wool spinning, communication products, development of and investment in new high-tech products for environmental protection, importing and exporting of various commodities and technologies by itself or as an agent, rental services with its own premises, property management, clothes design and other ventures. Its subordinate brands include HLA, EICHITOO, SANCANAL and HLA JEANS.

On April 11, 2014, the company accomplished a reorganization of its material assets and HLA successfully completed its back door listing.From 2014 to 2016 Heilan Home ranked first as a Chinese costume and textile brand on the Hurun Brand List for three years in a row and became the first Chinese clothing brand with a brand value over 10 billion Yuan.

Among all the Chinese clothing brands in 2014, 2015 and 2016, its A-share market value ranked first.

On December 29, 2015, according to the statistic data published by the authoritative financial analysis institution -Standard and Poor's for the “Top 25 Clothes Companies in the World with Highest Market Value”, HLA ranked 14th with a market value of 9.498 billion USD (more than 60 billion RMB), surpassing Prada, Burberry and other prominent brands.

In November, 2016, Heilan Home was awarded the title of “Best Listed Chinese Company of the Year 2016”.

HLA'S Global Expansion

HLA is in the process of expanding into overseas markets, through a ‘three-step’ plan: “Taking a step into Southeast Asia, radiating to the Asia-Pacific regions and setting our sights over the whole world”. Taking the first overseas store in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia as a template, HLA plans to continue its extension into the Southeast Asian market, with projects in Singapore, Thailand and other countries currently underway. In the next several years, HLA plans to successively enter the markets of India, Japan and South Korea along with other neighboring countries.

HLA owns over 300 designers providing design guidance to suppliers.[7]
