Composer Emanuel Leplin

Hello again from your friend at Commons! I am so appreciative of the times you have helped when issues have popped up due to photographs. We have that again here with https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emanuel_Leplin . Some of the following information is from Commons discussions about the pictures. The article was written by a son of the composer who also uploaded images. It's bannered with a very correct "too close to subject" header, but the citations are lengthy and valid. I am hoping that there is a process by which this article can be reviewed and that header removed. I acknowledge I don't do enough high-level en:wiki editing any more to confidently undertake this, and I looked for perhaps a working group, and then I realized that he was a composer - and thought of you. Can I borrow some notability-fu, music subsection?

Four Year Strong is now listed as Notable people from Wormtown. That looks a little...I dunno, overeaching? On the other hand, the whole section seems to be full of also-rans, Robert Goddard is the only pukka notable among them, and I can easily think of as many people who are far more notable. The bar is fairly low for lists of this sort. I'm pretty sure the guideline at WP:LISTPEOPLE addresses the issue. Generally, you only need a Wikipedia page about you and you can be listed at articles where you have some relevance. Binksternet (talk) 03:54, 6 November 2017 (UTC)

that looks to me like if the section were filled with everyone meeting the same level of notabilty, it'd have at least a thousand people. Just unning through the major colleges I've prolly broke a hundred, and I'm not through...and those are just the live ones. But, say, when you are talking popular music, and Four Year Strong is listed, and the J. Geils Band ain't, that sends up a signal, even if he is dead now. Editors who are interested in list articles such as List of people from Worcester, Massachusetts, may choose a tighter inclusion criteria. For instance, because of local consensus, List of people from New York City is not supposed to include people who moved there from somewhere else, while List of people from Pittsburgh includes anybody who lived there for a significant time. Well, I'd've expect the short list in the Worcester article to be tighter still, listing only very prominent people with a strong association, , and these guys like many of the others, just don't seem to have that prominence. Hi, just wanted to let you know that since 2012 an IP user from Hartford, CT, has been adding references to bongos on the tabla article despite being repeatedly reverted (since bongos and tabla are not similar or related). This guy also disrupts the bongo article in the same way, adding his unreferenced original research, which is wrong. Perhaps a rangeblock on Special:Contributions/2602:252:D27:DA20:0:0:0:0/64 might help, although other IPs such as Special:Contributions/155.43.77.85 have been involved. Proto-metal

Can we civilly discuss your issue with proto-metal? I don't think I "misunderstood" the sources, as one of the sources I provided listed it as a subgenre, as well as another one stating it is lo-fi and amateur compared to heavy metal and hard rock, and one saying that it was influenced by psychedelic rock. Proto-punk has it's own page with sources, even though it is very similar to garage rock stylistically, but has a different feel. This is the same case with proto-metal, sounds similar to hard rock and heavy metal, but has it's share of stylistic differences. Bands like Deep Purple, The Zoot, and Iron Claw are stylistically different from heavy metal bands like Iron Maiden and Black Sabbath. Feel free to share your thoughts. I truly don't see what you mean. I read the sources, they don't say anything about it just being hard rock except one, which I can admit that source was faulty. But all of the other ones that I read only describe it as it's own thing. Psychedelic rock and blues rock fused to make amateur, heavy, and distorted rock music. Talk:The Center for Medical Progress sanctions notice

I was a bit surprised to see the sanctions notice commented out (you removed the commenting [1] here), so I went back through the history expecting to find an IP editor surreptitiously commenting it out, but I think it's even simpler than that. The headers were originally added [2] here and the notice was commented out when it was added, possibly to have it easily available if needed but not at first. I'm not familiar enough with the sanctions process to know if it takes an admin to formally put something under sanctions or if anyone can. I think that the article *should* have the notice, the past disruption is easily enough and the recent push should absolutely be enough. Not sure though. I did the same thing you did, after I "restored" the sanctions notice. Like you, I found that the commented-out sanctions notice was added in that form in the first few edits by an editor in good standing.

LTA case pages are handy for keeping track of individual vandals but they are supposed to be started only after the vandal has been blocked multiple times. Can you point to a block log or two to show that this has happened? Take a look at Wikipedia:Long-term abuse to see what kinds of vandals deserve a case page. For that matter, can someone please provide an example of me vandalizing a page? Many users are calling me a vandal, but whenever I ask them to give me proof, they go silent. The page Destiny Leo made doesn't actually show that I have vandalized anything. I add genres to song pages, and they are sourced and later approved by other editors. It certainly says that Big K.R.I.T.'s genre is Southern hip hop, explicitly. If you give some leeway to the source's wording – if you allow for some reading comprehension-based interpretation – it's also saying that the first half of the album is Southern hip hop, while the second half is more introspective. I looked at your wording and found it unencyclopedic: you mispelled words and introduced links to the wrong stuff such as Transformer and Berlin which are supposed to be albums. You didn't use italics on the album names nor did you put quotes around song names. You used two grocer's apostrophes where they don't belong. The source says the album is "new jack soul" which is not one of our genres with an article. The source also says the album is trap swing. At any rate, the infobox is for genres that are generally true, while specific details should be placed in the article body as prose. It's really Special:Contributions/2604:2000:98C4:8C00:0:0:0:0/64, which is a range of IPs in Queens, New York, with activity going back to October 2016. This person has received numerous warnings about adding unreferenced stuff, but as far as I know, they have not communicated back. Among the warnings are some from you: this one, this one, and this one, all from February, and this one from March. Materialscientist blocked this user in March.[6]

Hi B, I restored some of the content you reverted at Doki. It's definitely not a commentary on your reversion. I was cleaning up some of the cruddy grammar and had an edit conflict with you. Since I was able to verify one or two of the entries, (Zeke is an armadillo who flies a hot-air balloon and Sticks Bamberg is a character whose name is voiced clearly by one of the other characters) I'm left with the impression that the content was submitted in good faith, even if I haven't been able to vet it all. I do note that the submitting IP has been problematic for quite a while. Did you read the guideline at WP:CATDEF? That's where it explains how categories must be definitive. If a drummer is famous for sitting behind a rock drum kit then they are in the category of drummer. If that drummer sometimes plays congas or other percussion, they are not in the category of conga player or percussionist because that's not what defines them. Space Rock

Not sure why you felt the 21st century info in the intro paragraph on the space rock page mentioning the resurgence of the term only belongs further down in the 21C section? It had been in that intro paragraph for a couple years til someone took it and a bunch of other info out of the intro and the article in 2016. You wrote that the space rock "term was revived in the 21st century to refer to a new crop of groups..." but none of the sources say this. Instead, the three sources each describe one band as a space rock band. So you have synthesized s conclusion which was assembled from A+B+C. The conclusion is your own, not supported by the literature. So I determined that these new details should be removed from the lead section and repositioned down into the article body, with your synthesized conclusion removed. According to the guideline at WP:LEAD, the lead section should be a summary of the article body. The lead section is not the first place to stick new details. Best narration? I cannot find anything about such an award. The DIFF website says nothing about an award for narration. This page about Shaher at DIFF doesn't say the film won any award. Shaher is a Hindi word and so sometimes written both ways as Shaher or Shehar.

User group for Military Historians

"Military history" is one of the most important subjects when speak of sum of all human knowledge. To support contributors interested in the area over various language Wikipedias, we intend to form a user group. It also provides a platform to share the best practices between military historians, and various military related projects on Wikipedias. An initial discussion was has been done between the coordinators and members of WikiProject Military History on English Wikipedia. Now this discussion has been taken to Meta-Wiki. Contributors intrested in the area of military history are requested to share their feedback and give suggestions at Talk:Discussion to incubate a user group for Wikipedia Military Historians.

Both of you are just reverting each other, which amounts to an edit war even though neither of you have crossed WP:3RR yet. Edits on Led Zeppelin songs article

I want to know why you are reverting my edits to Led Zeppelin song articles in regards to John Bonham's percussion playing? A ching-ring (a tambourine that is often mounted on a hi-hat stand) is clearly audible on "Moby Dick" and a gong can be heard on "What is and What Should Never Be", both obviously by Bonham and maracas appear to be audible on "Custard Pie" in unison with the hi-hats.61.69.217.3 (talk) 10:38, 5 January 2018 (UTC)

Sweet Caroline

I am perplexed that you keep reverting this page back to an incorrect date of June 1969 for this release....The song was OFFICIALLY released by Diamond's label on September 16th, 1969...The label apparently provided the song to a few labels 8 or so weeks earlier, but the OFFICIAL release date was September 16th, 1969

Here are some simple cites that you could have found on your own with Google using only the wording "Sweet Caroline", and "September 16"... The first two links are interviews with Diamond himself where he states the same:
