Aaron Bernstine (born July 20, 1984) is the representative for the 10th District of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. The district includes Beaver County, Butler County and Lawrence County. He is a member of the Republican Party.
Political career
Bernstine began his political career when he defeated incumbent Jaret Gibbons for the 10th District seat in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives with 58.48% of the vote. He served on the Aging & Older Adult Services, Finance, Game and Fisheries and Health committees. [3]
Controversy
On September 15, 2017 Bernstine tweeted "If anyone EVER tries to stop my car on a highway with negative intentions... I will not stop under any conditions."[4] State Democrats and liberal activists called for an apology from Bernstine. After trying to defend himself on Twitter Bernstine sent an email to other members of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives stating "Taking my comments to that extreme is just absurd. My intent was simply to let people know that I, along with what I believe are many others, have grown tired of those who are committing crimes and acts of violence in the name of peaceful protest."[5]
