The 2017 Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race was the 73rd annual running of the Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race. Hosted by the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia, it began on Sydney Harbour at 13:00 on 26 December 2017, before heading south for 628 nautical miles (1,163 kilometres) via the Tasman Sea, Bass Strait, Storm Bay and up the River Derwent, to cross the finish line in Hobart, Tasmania.[1]

A fleet of 102 boats contested the race. These included past winners Wizard, InfoTrack, Wild Oats XI, Black Jack, Comanche and Kialoa II.[2][3]

Line honours were claimed by LDV Comanche, which broke Perpetual Loyal 2016 race record, to finish in a time of 1 day, 9 hours, 15 minutes and 24 seconds.
