Combat Flight Simulator WWII Europe Series (CFS1) is the first version of combat flight simulators from Microsoft, released November 1, 1998. CFS1 is set in the European Theater of World War II.

Combat Flight Simulator was a commercial success; its global sales surpassed 450,000 copies by June 2000.[1]

Combat Flight Simulator was a finalist for Computer Gaming World's 1998 "Best Simulation" award, which ultimately went to European Air War.[2]
