Terry Van Ginderen

Esther (Terry) Van Ginderen-Verbeeck, also known as Aunt Terry (Hoboken, September 8, 1931 – Bonheiden, January 30, 2018) was a Flemish television presenter and businesswoman.

Life and Career

Through her marriage with footballer Jos Van Ginderen she became better known as Terry Van Ginderen.

In 1954, Van Ginderen worked for Belgium TV (at that time NIR). Van Ginderen worked together with Paula Sémer and Nora Steyaert, one of the first broadcasters. As Aunt Terry, she presented together with Bob Davidse (Nonkel Bob) the children's program Come take a look and from 1961 for eighteen years Small, small toddler. She was assisted by the squirrel Kraakje, voiced by journalist Monique Delvaux.

After her resignation in 1979, at the BRT she became a businesswoman.

From 1989, when she founded VTM she worked for this channel, again for children's programs, but she also appeared in various juries of game programs. In 1992, she became manager of Silvy Melody.

On the occasion of her 75th birthday in 2006, she was received at the Antwerp city hall.

Until her death she was active as a presenter of fashion shows and active with performances for the elderly.
