Removed F1 enthusiast speak regarding Warwick's crash, but added how Warwick fared in the restarted race
Bits of tidying up, mainly as regards the links (in particular, the practice with instances of "Ford" is to point to Ford Motor Company rather than to Cosworth). Also replaced outdated <small> tags with {{small}} template

The 1990 Italian Grand Prix (formally the Coca-Cola 61° Gran Premio d'Italia[1]) was a Formula One motor race held on 9 September 1990 at Monza. It was the twelfth race of the 1990 Formula One season. The race was the 60th Italian Grand Prix and the 55th to be held at Monza.

Brazilian driver Ayrton Senna in a McLaren-Honda took pole position and then led every lap, winning the race by six seconds over his title rival reigning world champion, French driver Alain Prost driving a Ferrari. Senna also set the fastest lap of the race, scoring a Grand Slam. With Senna's Austrian teammate Gerhard Berger third, the podium was identical to that at the previous round.

Near the end of the first lap, Derek Warwick ran wide at the Parabolica, his Lotus hitting the guard rail at around 140 mph (230 km/h) and flipping upside down. Warwick clambered out of the car unhurt.[2] The race was stopped on the second lap and restarted over the original distance, with Warwick taking the spare car and eventually retiring with a clutch failure.

Senna's victory over Prost saw the championship points gap expand to 16 points, the largest gap between the two all season to that point.
