People from Huntingdonshire category question
Not sure if this is the correct place for this query...
Huntingdonshire became a district of Cambridgeshire in 1974. I have been adding people to Category:People from Huntingdonshire (district) but I there also exists Category:People from Huntingdonshire which purports to include "people from localities that were part of the county of Huntingdonshire", so should I
- be adding people to both categories ?
- Or should people born before 1974 be added to the latter and those born before 1974 be added to the former ?
- Or should all people be added to Category:People from Huntingdonshire and none to Category:People from Huntingdonshire (district)
- Or should Category:People from Huntingdonshire be deleted (or at least redirected to Category:People from Huntingdonshire (district) ?
Is option 3 what I ought to be using (as I have just realized I appear to be the only one to have added people to Category:People from Huntingdonshire (district) ?
Note there also exists Category:People from Huntingdonshire (before 1974) which redirects to Category:People from Huntingdonshire
Thanks GrahamHardy (talk) 07:16, 30 January 2018 (UTC)
- Think I'll just move everyone from Category:People from Huntingdonshire (district) to Category:People from Huntingdonshire so as to go with the flow ! GrahamHardy (talk) 14:44, 30 January 2018 (UTC)
- Only 4 people left in Category:People from Huntingdonshire (district) (that I didn't put there) will move them also...GrahamHardy (talk) 17:55, 30 January 2018 (UTC)
- Nobody left now, but curiously Category:People from Huntingdonshire is not in Category:People from Cambridgeshire, whereas Category:People from Huntingdonshire (district) is, which cannot be right, Added Category:People from Huntingdonshire to Category:People from Huntingdonshire (district), ho hum. Infoboxes and quoteboxes
Does an IB prevent a quotebox from being placed directly opposite it? I've found an example of where an image sits OK opposite an IB, but a T:QB doesn't seem to be having any of it. Any suggestions, royal helpdeskers? >SerialNumber54129...speculates 10:39, 30 January 2018 (UTC)
- Text should not be squeezed between an image and an infobox per MOS:IMGLOC (though often is) so I imagine the same would probably apply to a blockquote or quote box. I would not think there's anything in the software to prevent it...It is more likely something in the (current) formatting which is causing an issue. Eagleash (talk) 10:50, 30 January 2018 (UTC)
- Yeah, I don't think anything prevents this from happening too, as long as the quote box is set to

BIOGRAPHY SYNOPSIS Born on 15 March 1960, in Kamina, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Bernard Katompa is a seasoned business leader with a proven track record of making things happen. He is currently a Businessman and Civic Leader committed to giving his best contribution to the development of his country and the African continent. For five years (from 2007 to 2012), Bernard was Chief Executive Officer of Liberty Africa, a Financial Institution he started from scratch on behalf of the Liberty Group to provide insurance and wealth products to the untapped African market and create value for all stakeholders. During this period, as the first Chief Executive Officer of Liberty Africa, he managed to successfully establish Liberty’s presence in 16 African countries. He stepped down from this role in August 2012 to focus on his political aspirations which he believes will help create a better humanity. He joined Liberty from BHP Billiton, where he had a successful professional career, having started in Internal Audit in 1992 in Johannesburg, South Africa, to end up as one of the top Senior Exwww.bernardkatompa.netecutives of the World’s largest resource company in 2007. He is multilingual and has worked/led businesses in Africa, North America, Latin America, Australasia and Europe, turning loss making entities into profitable operations. His international languages include English and French. Bernard is a Professional Accountant with a number of academic qualifications that include: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Sciences, Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Auditing, Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Finance Management, Master’s Degree in Business/Finance Management and AMP Certificate from Harvard Business School. Married to Françoise N.T. Katompa, for 33 years, the couple has two children, Alain M Katompa, engaged to Chloé Mpinga and Pamela Tshiany, married to Glenn Tshiany. The greatest joy of the family is provided by their two grandchildren, Layla Tshiany and her younger brother, Luca Tshiany. CHILDHOOD With the unrest in the DRC following its independence from Belgium on 30 June 1960, Bernard’s parents moved from Kamina to the diamond rich province of Kasai where Bernard completed his primary and high school with the highest honours and this, in extremely poor conditions. His primary aspiration was to become a catholic priest but, after spending four years in Seminary, he opted for a secular life which allowed him to travel to Kinshasa where he started his higher education. His undergraduate degrees were obtained at the Higher Institute of Commerce in Kinshasa, DRC where he enrolled simultaneously in Accounting and Computer Sciences and obtained both degrees in the same year. Bernard had an excellent relationship with his parents who, together with the entire neighbourhood took pride in his behaviour, performance and achievements as a young man for whom only the sky was the limit. PROFESSIONAL LIFE GECAMINES In 1984, Bernard joined Gecamines, a Congolese mining company with uranium, cobalt, zinc and copper operations throughout the Katanga province, with Head Offices located in Lubumbashi and Brussels as Head of the Budget and Follow-up department. He successfully led the Millennium project aimed at implementing a fully integrated financial application system covering inventory management, purchasing and supplier payment in Belgium and the DRC from 1986 to 1987. His efforts were rewarded by a bonus payment which he and his wife used to open their first Supermarket (grocery store) and to establish a car rental company which were destroyed by the looting of 1992, after Bernard and his family had relocated to Johannesburg, South Africa in 1991, leaving behind a number of properties which are currently occupied by family members. INFAST TOOLS From September 1991 to May 1992, Bernard was employed by INFAST TOOLS (a company supplying mining equipment) in Denver, Johannesburg as Commercial and I.T. Manager. During this period, he created new market opportunities which increased the value of the company in supplying mining equipmenttotheDRC. He was head-hunted by Gencor (currently known as BHP Billiton) which he joined as Senior Internal Auditor in June 1992. BHP BILLITON Bernard had a fascinating career at BHP Billiton having been the first black person to be employed as Audit Manager in the South African mining industry before the democratic elections of 1994 which saw Nelson Mandela becoming President. With the apartheid system, the environment in South Africa was so challenging that he was sometimes treated as the driver of Mr. Bernard before knowing that it was him. After creating the I.T. Audit department (which did not exist before his time) and promoting the concept of system approach to I.T. auditing, Bernard was appointed the first I.T. Audit Manager within the Group. In this role, he managed to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of business activities throughout the organization by developing, implementing and enforcing the necessary policies and procedures, aimed at enhancing the level of internal controls. He was a few months later appointed Group Audit Manager, covering BHP Billiton’s operations worldwide. He succeeded in changing the nature of the Auditing department from a policing function to a management tool which assisted the company in significantly improving its operational and financial performance. In June 1997, following the acquisition of Billiton by Gencor, Bernard was transferred to Canada as Finance Director with a mandate to turn around the North American operations which had poor performance and could not positively contribute to the bottom line of the Group. He succeeded in his mission and in addition facilitated the acquisition of Rio Algom which gave Billiton an expanded footprint in various Latin American countries. He moved his office from Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec to Toronto, Canada where the Head Office of Rio Algom was located. He was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Selnor Mining, Inc, a division of Billiton Metals Canada in 1998. Subsequent to the merger between BHP and Billiton to create BHP Billiton, Bernard was, in July 2002, appointed Global General Manager of the newly created Base Metals Risk Management and Control department and moved from Toronto to Houston, Texas, USA. He successfully embedded effective risk management practice into business activities and improved the risk profile of the entire Base Metals Customer Sector Group. In February 2003, with the need for a strong leadership in the Manganese division, Bernard was requested to relocate to South Africa to take up the role of Senior Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer of Samancor with full responsibility over the Global Manganese Group which had operations in South Africa, Australia and the USA. He was appointed at the same time Chairman of the Samancor Foundation, established to fulfil corporate social responsibilities and uplift the living conditions of local communities. In March 2007, he was appointed Leader of the Sangaredi Bauxite Project, assigned the responsibility of developing a bauxite mine and an alumina refinery in Guinea (Conakry) as part of the BHP Billiton expansion plans in the aluminium business. He relocated to Paris, France for four months and then moved to Brisbane, Australia, where he stayed until joining the Liberty Group in September 2007. Bernard has accumulated a wealth of knowledge in the mining industry and has been treated by many as a geologist, mining engineer or metallurgist based on his achievements in both base and precious metals operations. As a result of his successes he was nicknamed “Mr. Turnaround”, having enhanced the profitability of various mining entities. LIBERTY GROUP Considering its plan to replicate its Wealth Creation and Management businesses in Africa, the Liberty Group head hunted Bernard who accepted to join the Organisation in September 2007, founded Liberty Africa and became its first Chief Executive Officer. During the five year period in this role, Bernard developed excellent relationship with various African governments and established Liberty’s presence in 16 countries. Whilst providing insurance and wealth products which are still underdeveloped in many parts of the continent, he managed to make Liberty part of the fabric of the countries in which it operated and created a strong emotional connection with local communities. His contribution in enhancing the culture of saving and investment in those communities has remained unforgettable. In July 2012, Bernard made a tough decision to step down as Chief Executive Officer of Liberty Africa (his own creation) in order to prepare his political career as he feels the obligation of giving his best contribution to the Congolese people after a successful career around the world. Communities Throughout Bernard’s professional career he has engaged in numerous community upliftment initiatives. He has been a strong advocate for the empowerment of women and children and was recognized by the Pan African Women's Economic Empowerment Summit for his exemplary efforts to create, build and empower communities. He championed the fight against rape in the Greater Nelspruit region of South Africa - in particular he created the Standing Together Against Rape (STAR) initiative. Bernard’s other community related activities have covered, inter alia, environmental protection projects, roads construction, youth development, building of schools, libraries, medical centres and omni-sports stadiums. Considering his personal values, achievements and aspirations, he has been proclaimed a GOODWILL AMBASSADOR by the State of Georgia, in the USA.www.bernardkatompa.net — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bernardkatompa (talk • contribs) 11:46, 30 January 2018 (UTC) |

infobox discrepancy
I don't know much about infobox maintenance, so this may be an obvious thing, but I've just noticed that the {{infobox book | lists the book title outside the infobox, whereas every other infobox I checked lists the title inside the created box.
- The Chrysalids - outside the box
- Demolition Man (film) - inside the box
- Defender (1981 video game) - inside the box
- Top Gear (2002 TV series) - inside the box
Is this intentional, and if so - why? There may be other examples of both inside and out, but shouldn't there be consistency? Chaheel Riens (talk) 12:12, 30 January 2018 (UTC)
- Template:Infobox#Title allows both forms. There are many infoboxes of both types. PrimeHunter (talk) 12:45, 30 January 2018 (UTC)
Wrong information about my grandfather
Dear Sir/Madam There have been pages on Wikipedia about my grandfather "Youssef El-Guindy" for several years. They all had wrong information that i repeatedly tried to correct and failed because they got all reverted. The last page about my grandfather "https://ar.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D9%8A%D9%88%D8%B3%D9%81_%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%AC%D9%86%D8%AF%D9%8A" has the photo of my father instead. I tried to upload a correct photo and wrote a note on the current one explaining that is it for the wrong person. This got reverted as well. What can i do to fix this???

- Hello, Trent.raleigh. I fear you are making the very common mistake of supposing that Wikipedia has any role at all in how your company presents itself. It does not, and attempts to use it in that way tend to be strongly resisted by many of the volunteers who create and maintain the encyclopaedia. If at some time Wikipedia has an article on your company, it will be just that: Wikipedia's article about your company. It will not be your article, you will have very little say in what is in it. Such an article will not be based in any significant way on what the company or its associates say or want to say, but almost entirely on what people who have no connection with the company have chosen to publish around it in reliable organs. Only if there is sufficient independent material to ground an article will it be possible to write one. --ColinFine (talk) 18:08, 30 January 2018 (UTC)

Should a page be created
I am listed as author of music in several articles in Wikipedia This music has become quite popular and was released and released by several noted artists Inc Nelly, Chris Brown and NAS Is it ok to create a stub that can be linked to my name ? - The standard for creating a new article at Wikipedia is The article is about a subject that has significant coverage in reliable source that are independent of the topic. Which is to say that if there exists, right now, outside of Wikipedia, multiple reliable sources that have written extensive biographies of your life and work, and that those sources are entirely unconnected to you and your employers and associations. In that case an article could be created. Wikipedia's conflict of interest rules recommend against being involved in such work yourself, so the best thing you can do is to go to Wikipedia:Requested articles, where you request the article be created by someone else, and include as many of those reliable sources they can use to create the text of that article. I hope that helps! --Jayron32 18:53, 30 January 2018 (UTC)

Help with editing article that blatantly advertises
Hi all,
I would like some help and/or advice on how to edit this article on Bridgeview Vineyard and Winery, as the history section is a direct ripoff of the business website, and does not read like an encyclopedia. I have made a message on the talk page, but never received a response. I believe WP:PROMOTION is violated here, as it was misleading for me when I was looking up wineries in that region.
Thanks in advance! ChunyangD (talk) 06:02, 31 January 2018 (UTC)

Help related to getting a new page I created reviewed
The following page - Jodie Underhill created 16:29, 30 January 2018 needs to be reviewed.
I am not sure if review requests like this are supposed to be made or not if a page hasn't been reviewed within a certain timeframe. I checked in the New Pages Feed - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:NewPagesFeed - 16:29, 30 January 2018 - just now and it still hasn't been reviewed.
There is no COI here from my side as to why I am requesting for this page to be reviewed. I have created 8 pages and they have all been reviewed very fast so I am not sure why this is taking relatively longer and I have noticed that there are some pages which haven't been reviewed for very long. I have asked this question on other user pages and have finally come here looking for some help. Not trying to cause anyone inconvenience.
Thank you.

I wonder what pictures may be uploaded to the articles of wikipedia without copyright violation?Lyupant (talk) 11:13, 31 January 2018 (UTC)
- Images you have made yourself or those that are clearly and explicitly public domain, usually either because copyright has expired or because they are US federal government images or a verifiable owner has released the copyright to us. If you photograph a modern building, sculpture or others work of art there may be additional restriction depending on the country they are taken in. For examples, in the UK you can use your own images of modern buildings, sculptures and paintings in public places including museums, in the US only buildings, in France, none of those are permitted Jimfbleak - talk to me? 13:12, 31 January 2018 (UTC)
- Hey Lyupant. Just to add to the correct advice above, I'd say that image copyright can be really freaking complicated, and even some of our folks who are fairly experienced in it can often run into unclear instances and need a second or third opinion. It may be easier if you gave us an indication of what types of images you are interested in finding, and maybe we can give some more specific advice. GMGtalk 13:35, 31 January 2018 (UTC)
OK, thanks a lot for your precious help and I'll ask you for advice another time when i would be interested in uploading pictures to the article I edit.
- Technically, you can't upload pictures to a Wikipedia article. I don't mean that there's a rule against it, but that it isn't possible. You can upload pictures to Wikimedia Commons, and to English and other Wikipedias, though there are rules about what pictures you are allowed to upload, as Jimfbleak has described. Once a picture has been uploaded to Commons or to a Wikipedia, anyone can use it in articles. Maproom (talk) 20:28, 31 January 2018 (UTC)

U.S. Senators
Hello,
On List of United States Senators from West Virginia, the portrait of the first Class 2 Senator is not aligned with the top of the board line. Can someone fix that bug pleasE?
Thanks
WhatsUpWorld (talk) 18:40, 31 January 2018 (UTC)
- I don't believe it is a bug. If you look at the next class 2 senator (who served a lot longer), that portrait and name are centered vertically during the time that he served. I think this is true for the first class 2 senator as well, it is just centered in an area that isn't much larger than the photo/name, so there is a small gap at the top and a small gap at the bottom.Naraht (talk) 19:27, 31 January 2018 (UTC)

Uploading map for use with draft article
Hello. I am writing an article on Cam Ne [Vietnam War]. I submitted the draft. The article is in the review queue. I want to add a map for the Cam Ne article. When I try to upload the map, I get a system message telling me there is no article in Wikipedia by that name. I suppose that is because the article is still under review.
My question: can I upload a map for an article still under review? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Peter Brush (talk • contribs) 20:42, 31 January 2018 (UTC)
- You can upload a map for an article under review, for use in your sandbox, or just on spec in the hope that someone will want to use it one day. Where did you try to upload the map to? When I have uploaded maps (to Commons, and to English and other Wikipedias), I have never been asked for the name of an article. Maproom (talk) 20:53, 31 January 2018 (UTC)
I was able to upload it to Commons. Now I need to include it in my article under review. Can you direct me to a guide how to do that? Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Peter Brush (talk • contribs) 21:56, 31 January 2018 (UTC)
- I've added the map you uploaded to Draft:Cam Ne. Please feel free to adjust its size, position, caption, etc. There's some instructions at WP:PIC. Maproom (talk) 22:17, 31 January 2018 (UTC)
Do you have the copyright to the image or is it public domain? If so you can upload it. If you are uploading it under fair use rules then it needs to be used in an article (not a draft) for it to be kept. When you were uploading it what were you giving as copyright status? RJFJR (talk) 22:21, 31 January 2018 (UTC)
- Peter Brush uploaded it as {{PD-USGov}}. Maproom (talk) 22:25, 31 January 2018 (UTC)

If a user didn't use the two dots (::) on my talk page to create a new line and just kept on creating new headers even if the topic is the same am I allowed to just merge it all under one header? Wikipedia thinks there's an "edit war" but there's not!
Hello. I am trying to edit the page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Malcolm_Wakeford on behalf of Malcolm Wakeford. I am the original author of the page and it needs to be completely updated including headings.
I have created a new login as I don't know my original password. I uploaded the new page last night and it automatically reverted to the old page. Twice.
Now I have been advised I am in an "edit war" and will be blocked from making further changes.
How do I remove the old page and replace with the new one. All entries will be referenced are checked with the subject of the biographical page.
How do I convince Wikipedia there is no "edit war"?
Thanks for your help Telegirl7 Telegirl7 (talk) 03:41, 1 February 2018 (UTC)
- @Telegirl7: I was the editor who reverted you. Twice. You stated above that "entries will be referenced" but they were not. In fact you removed all of the existing references from the article. I suggest you prepare an improved article in your sandbox, and only move it to article space when it has a suitable standard including inline references. I am happy to help work on the better article, but please do not throw out the baby with the bath water. By the way, you should not be editing an article "on behalf of Malcolm Wakeford". That is a conflict of interest and should be avoided. Regards, WWGB (talk) 06:43, 1 February 2018 (UTC)
- The referencing in the current version of Malcolm Wakeford is very poor: there are many direct external links, and some references which are not cited properly. But Telegirl17's version had no references of any kind, and was quite properly reverted. Maproom (talk) 08:00, 1 February 2018 (UTC)

How to use a Commons picture, when another with the same name exists locally?
I want to use the picture https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Surveillance_camera.jpg
Unfortunately, when I include it in an article, this picture shows up instead: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Surveillance_camera.jpg
How to do? Thanks! Syced (talk) 04:10, 1 February 2018 (UTC)
- Hi Syced, per Help:Files#Uploading files,
"If a file of the same name exists on both Wikipedia and Commons, the Wikipedia file will be displayed."
As the Wikipedia same-named file is not used in any article, you could safely request the same to be renamed, following the procedure listed at Help:Files#Renaming files, and then obtain the correct display result. New article in place of existing redirect
@Rwood128: asked me for assistance but I'm not sure how to proceed - hopefully you can point me in the right direction. There is an existing article, Sailortown (Belfast), and a redirect from Sailortown to it. Rwood128 created a new article, intending it to be called "Sailortown". A hatnote will serve the purpose of the old redirect. That name is already taken by the redirect, so he named it Sailortown (dockland) in the meantime. How can that article be renamed to "Sailortown", replacing the redirect?--Gronk Oz (talk) 15:40, 1 February 2018 (UTC)
- I wouldn't do that. The new article doesn't appear to be as notable as Sailortown (Belfast) and so there's no reason for it to take the Sailortown page (to be honest I'm not sure why the Belfast page isn't there already). Anyway, definitely the best thing to do (and one recommended by policy) is to edit Sailortown to convert it from a redirect into a disambiguation page, pointing to both the Belfast and the new article. Black Kite (talk) 16:24, 1 February 2018 (UTC)
- Black Kite thanks for this. Rwood128 (talk) 17:49, 1 February 2018 (UTC)

How to change header and logo image?
Hello,
Our Airport changed our name back in 2015, I am able to adjust the name within the article itself but cannot modify the actual heading name. FAA made our name change official today but I am unable to find a way to correct our name in Wikipedia, it still lists it at Fort Collins-Loveland Municipal Airport, our name has been Northern Colorado Regional Airport for 3 years now!! Also, on the summary on the side there is a logo image, I have been trying to update this image for years now to no avail. Is there a way to correct the summary box on the side?
Thank you! — Preceding unsigned comment added by BattmerS (talk • contribs) 19:38, 1 February 2018 (UTC)

- @BattmerS: Your account became autoconfirmed and able to move pages when it made the tenth edit which was your latest edit to Fort Collins–Loveland Municipal Airport. Images must be uploaded before being added to articles but uploading logos can be tricky because they are usually copyrighted and require a fair use rationale. Do you have a link to the logo? How do I insert footnotes and references?
How do I hyperlink names to other Wikipedia entries?
Thank you — Preceding unsigned comment added by Telegirl7 (talk • contribs) 00:33, 2 February 2018 (UTC)
- For references, there is a cite tool at the top of the source editor. Liks are done by [[Target Article]] which will display as Target Article, or, if you want the displayed text to differ from the link, [[Name of Target Article|Target Article]], which will also display as Target Article. In the visual editor (which I find much easier for references), you simply highlight text and click the link button or click where you want the referrence and click cite. EBSCO access
Hello. I'd like to ask whether I can get my EBSCO access removed. Based on what I've been told, EBSCO access is temporary and lasts for only one year. Since I applied for access as long ago as 25 January, 2017 (visible here), I would have expected my EBSCO access to have expired already by this stage, but it just seems to continue endlessly. It has been fun using EBSCO, and I may apply for access again at some time in the future, but I really don't want it at the moment. FreeKnowledgeCreator (talk) 03:52, 2 February 2018 (UTC)
- Hi FreeKnowledgeCreator, if I'm not wrong, I've read somewhere at EBSCOhost that once the personal account is created, it cannot be removed. I guess that's something similar to Wikipedia, where if you don't want to use it, you could perhaps simply discard the account. But if it's something really important for you, use http://support.ebscohost.com/contact/askus.php and leave them a request to remove your EBSCO access. Thanks, Lourdes 04:45, 2 February 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks Lourdes, I may possibly make such a request. I have to admit I'm not 100% sure how to use that form, however. The problem is the "Product/Interface" field. - Hi Ana. You don't appear to have made any previous edits under the user name AnvinoBCG. Do you have another account? You also appear to have a WP:Conflict of interest, and maybe paid editing which needs to be declared. I suggest that you create your article as a draft (Draft:Lars Faeste), and ensure that you find independent WP:Reliable sources in which Lars Faeste has been written about at length, then summarise the information in these, and use them as references. Google doesn't find reliable sources for me, so I'm not convinced that he is notable in the special Wikipedia sense, but perhaps you can find some newspaper articles? Don't forget to click on "Publish changes" at the bottom of your draft so that it gets saved. I can find no record of a previous article, though the advice on your talk page indicates that there has been something last week. Dbfirs 08:46, 2 February 2018 (UTC)
- Your previous draft which you had tried to create at your user talk page was deleted for 2 reasons: G11 and G12, the latter as a copyright violation from https://www.bcg.com/de-de/about/people/experts/lars-faeste.aspx. You were told in a message some days ago on your user talk page that copyrighted text is not allowed in Wikipedia, and yet your new draft is again a copyright violation from the same source, so will again be deleted. Before you try to create another article, please read the advice at WP:Your first article, as well as the advice above and the advice on your user talk page. --David Biddulph (talk) 10:46, 2 February 2018 (UTC)

My Page Swami Sri Vedanta Desikan
Hi,
Recently I created a page called Swami Sri Vedanta Desikan. I created this page because there was page by name "Vedanta desika". The pronunciation and spelling of the page title is wrong and I am unable to correct it. Since I could not change it, I had to create a new page with correct name. This is very important and we cannot spell the name wrongly as it has meaning to it. I copied unknowingly and unintentionally the page content to newly create page "Swami Sri Vedanta Desikan". I saw message from wikipedia that it is wrong to copy and needs to be deleted. Hence I wrote different content for my new page and it is still showing under speedy deletion. Please guide me if I have to delete this completely and create a fresh page with the same content (as it is now in DRAFT). However, I want the page title to be retained if I have to create new page separately (Stating all again). Please advise and guide. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vijayasarathyr (talk • contribs) 15:14, 2 February 2018 (UTC)

If you believe that name is wrong, the correct procedure is to move it to the correct name; or if you can't move it because you don't yet have that right, to ask someone else to move it. Wikipedia policy is to use the name by which the subject is usually known in English-language sources, omitting any honorifics such as "sri" and "swami". If you want to change the spelling from "Desika" to "Desikan", you'll need to justify that by finding sources that use that spelling. Maproom (talk) 15:38, 2 February 2018 (UTC)
How can I experiment with edit filters?
I would like to find a page or other place on Wikipedia where I can experiment with making edits that would trigger edit filters (and in some cases add tags to the edit history) that would normally apply to new or unregistered users. Is this possible? Thanks, ««« SOME GADGET GEEK »»» (talk) 15:44, 2 February 2018 (UTC)
- That is highly discouraged - in fact "Deliberately triggering the edit filter" is one of the pre-canned "Blocked Reason" selections. CrowCaw 17:05, 2 February 2018 (UTC)
