With all due respect, making a harmless edit to my own talk page does not constitute making a block. If you actually took a look towards the other pages I've amended you'd see the edits I made were constructive. Consider this - is there an active reason to block me? Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, but when you add or change content, as you did to the article Winston Reid (footballer), please cite a reliable source for the content of your edit. This helps maintain our policy of verifiability. Take a look at Wikipedia:Citing sources for information about how to cite sources and the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added to the page Chris Moyles do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used as a platform for advertising or promotion, and doing so is contrary to the goals of this project. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Rodhullandemu 15:29, 24 September 2010 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to make constructive contributions to Wikipedia, but at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Preston North End F.C., did not appear to be constructive and has been automatically reverted by ClueBot NG.
- Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Note that human editors do monitor recent changes to Wikipedia articles, and administrators have the ability to block users from editing if they repeatedly engage in vandalism.
- ClueBot NG produces very few false positives, but it does happen. If you believe the change you made should not have been detected as unconstructive, please report it here, remove this warning from your talk page, and then make the edit again.
- The following is the log entry regarding this warning: Preston North End F.C. was changed by 20.138.2.51 (u) (t) ANN scored at 0.803526 on 2010-11-15T17:32:08+00:00 . Thank you. ClueBot NG (talk) 17:32, 15 November 2010 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, adding content without citing a reliable source, as you did with this edit to Jenny Eclair, is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you are familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources, please take this opportunity to add references to the article. Petrb (talk) 13:59, 23 December 2010 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Bryan Ferry has been reverted.
Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline from Wikipedia. The external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. I removed the following link(s): http://images.wikia.com/mightyboosh/images/5/5a/Bryan_Ferry.jpg. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. an image file) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy and therefore probably should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 12:51, 21 January 2011 (UTC)

Your edit here to Orange Order was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to 2011 World Masters (darts). Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. Yunshui (talk) 13:32, 31 August 2011 (UTC)

Request reason:
As you might have suspected - this is indeed a shared IP! It's not a school or even an educational institute (at least in the traditional sense) - it's actually an office space. As you might imagine we've had a share of eh, disconcerting edits over the years - most of the former employees here are no longer present (ye shall be missed) and so with them the vandals/disruptive editors have left. I'd like to ask for this to be reopened as there is a community of individuals who enjoy spending their lunch breaks making reasonable, thought out edits to articles as and when required. Much obliged
Decline reason:
I'm unwilling to lift the block considering the vandalism took place over a period of more than seven and a half years. That's a truly stunning problem for a single office space. However, the block is anon-only which means you are free to edit here, so long as you sign in with an account. Yamla (talk) 13:47, 12 February 2018 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
20.138.2.51 (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log))
Request reason:
I again feel the need to state that this is an apology on behalf of those who chose to make disruptive edits and the community as a whole - over the course of seven and a half years the site has been reduced from 800 to approximately 200 people - including most if not all of the previous editors who will no longer be a problem. In the grand scheme of things there has been no more traffic than one might expect - and unfortunately we are in a state where registering/using an account will be difficult due to the IP block. What is there to lose from unblocking us?
Accept reason:
In the light of your statements here, together with the comments below from the blocking administrator and the administrator who declined your previous unblock request, I am happy to give you another chance. I hope there will be no similar problems in future. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 15:17, 12 February 2018 (UTC)
- @Gilliam and Yamla: Do either of you have any comment to make on the possibility of a trial unblock, on the understanding that the block will be restored immediately if there is any vandalism, and probably until a much later date than when the present block is due to expire? I am not expressing support for doing so, just inviting opinions to be considered. Also, if any other administrator would like to express an opinion, that will be welcome, too. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 14:12, 12 February 2018 (UTC)
- Heh. A cut of 800 down to 200? Having been in a similar situation before, my honest condolences. That actually makes it likely that most of the troublemakers are no longer there and on that basis, I'd endorse a trial unblock. --Yamla (talk) 14:16, 12 February 2018 (UTC)
- I wouldn't object to a trial unblock, given the circumstances.– Gilliam (talk) 14:19, 12 February 2018 (UTC)
