Nice. I found this extremely helpful to prove to a friend that you can't do anything you want to Wikipedia. Ha. Take that vandals! Only edit something useful please. Iminrainbows (talk) 03:06, 25 March 2010 (UTC)
:I created this. I got the idea because of someone who basically wrote this about his/her userpage. I don't think vandalism is too terrible of a problem now, since Wikipedia does a very good job of fighting it. I didn't think many people would read this, but I was surprised to see so much get added to it in such a short time. Sebwite (talk) 01:36, 26 March 2010 (UTC)

Um, to quote "If you continue to change your IP address and vandalize, Wikipedia will discuss the issue with your Internet Service Provider."

Now vandalism of Wiki pages may be a right pain in the arse, particularly if persitant and seemingly deliberate, but, in the whole scheme of the internet, would this justify one site (Wikipedia) complaining to an ISP that one of their customers is basically nothing more than an arsehole ? And so Wikipedia would demand that the ISP must do something ? Does Wikipedia actually have, or should have, such powers ? Bear in mind that we're talking one site in billions that the user could visit. And is vandalism, however disruptive to Wikipedia, a 'notifiable' action to an ISP to demand they take action ? Be clear, we're not talking about a user uploading child porn, or downloading torrents of films and albums, or even spamming, just basic editing of a page on a popular website that's a nuisance. Why should Wikipedia have more influence with an ISP than say a similar situation with some forum page ? My contention is that this a not something Wikipedia can or should do. I sense dangerous precedents being set with this. (And not to mention that someone with multiple IP addresses likely has multiple ISPs.) The Yeti (talk) 04:04, 24 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Humour?

This page isn't particularly humorous, though I mean that in a good way. A lot of the content on this page contains legitimate Wikipedia policy and is a real warning to vandals. 069952497aComments and complaintsStuff I've done 23:03, 25 March 2013 (UTC) Yes.[reply]

questions

Wait. So this is a page that people can mess with? Or can you create one? Would it be better if we created one? For everyone? What do you think people can mess with? Is putting 'So true' count as vandalism? Or putting 'okay' count? Rebelswillbehere702 (talk) 06:17, 6 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Aw, why did you semi-protect the essay?

I wanted to vandalize it! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.102.70.142 (talk) 21:56, 9 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Why did you want to vandalize it, though? Didn't you read the page? Zeke Essiestudy (talk) 04:40, 31 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalize

Not saying I would vandalize but you couldn't ban someone's IP and keep it that way it is very simple all they would have to do is change there MAC address making it into s different IP and then adding more accounts and screwing up your day even more not being rude but good try. Treyj457 (talk) 03:58, 8 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, but you're wrong. Yes, you can change your IP by unplugging and replugging your modem again, but it won't be long before someone notices and then proceeds to block your whole range of IP addresses (specifically if all IPs you get start with the same few numbers like 208.54, for instance). Zeke Essiestudy (talk) 07:32, 8 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Well that can easily be fixed by not going on a spree of vandalism. I would think Wikipedia wouldn't stalk your IP for any signs of activity after a simple edit of a Wikipedia page that is a joke. Treyj457 (talk) 01:26, 1 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia is a humorless wasteland of social justice warriors and idiotic fan boys on nearly every topic of discussion

Since the internet was invented by trolls for trolls wikipedia only exists for the amusement of the greater anonymous hive and always will. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2605:E000:A8B4:A700:1F3:AE88:882D:4DE0 (talk) 04:16, 11 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

May I propose to add the lines to the Here's what will happen section: If your vandalism is severe enough to threaten Wikimedia Foundation, User:WMFOffice will globally ban and lock your account, preventing you from being able to log in to any Wikimedia project and ever editing Wikimedia Foundation Wikis. In this case, your IP will be globally blocked and an abuse report sent to your ISP. 115.66.246.66 (talk) 09:58, 29 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
