Tokyo Metro Line 13 (東京地下鉄13号線, Tōkyō Chikatetsu Jūsangō-sen) is a Tokyo Metro subway line currently under construction in Tokyo, Japan. A 3.2 km segment from Kotake-Mukaihara to Ikebukuro, running parallel to the Yurakucho Line on separate tracks and known as the Yurakucho New Line (有楽町新線, Yūrakuchō Shin-sen), is already in operation.
The section presently under construction will connect to Shinjuku and Shibuya via Zoshigaya, Sendagaya and Meiji Shrine, with completion planned for 2007. Through services to Kawagoe-shi station on the Tobu Tojo Line, and Hanno station on the Seibu Ikebukuro Line will be offered.
Starting in 2012, the Tokyu Toyoko Line will move to share the line's Shibuya terminus and offer through services on the Minato Mirai Line to Motomachi Chūkagai Station, in Yokohama.
The main purposes of the line are to relieve congestion on the crowded Ikebukuro-Shinjuku-Shibuya corridor (currently only served by JR East) and to provide convenient through service between the northwest of Tokyo, the southwest of Tokyo and the city center.
