The Netherlands competed at the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow under the IOC country code HOL. It was the sixteenth appearance of the European nation, which made its Olympic debut in 1900. Holland sent 76 competitors to the Soviet capitol, but didn't participate in the opening ceremony because of the Soviet invasion in Afghanistan.
