The Perth Children's Hospital is a children's hospital under development in Nedlands, Western Australia. The hospital is located at the corner of Winthrop Avenue and Monash Avenue, within the Queen Elizabeth II Medical Centre site (which also contains Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital).[1]
History
In 2008, the state government announced that a new children's hospital would be built to replace Princess Margaret Hospital for Children.[2]
In January 2012, Premier Colin Barnett and Minister for Health Dr Kim Hames held a sod-turning ceremony to mark the beginning of the construction.[2]

On 29 November 2017, Western Australian Health Minister Roger Cook said that the hospital will open by May 2018, two and a half years after it was originally slated to open.[5]
As of April 2018[update] the hospital is scheduled to open in May 2108.[6]
