Javed Ahmed (born 10 February 1960) is a Pakistani American businessman. He was chief executive of Tate & Lyle plc, a British-based multinational agribusiness beginning in 2009, and is to retire in April 2018.
Ahmed graduated from Williams College, Williamstown, Massachusetts, in 1982, and received an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business in 1984.[1]
He started his career with Procter & Gamble, then spent five years with Bain & Co, before joining Reckitt Benckiser.[2]
Ahmed became CEO of Tate & Lyle on 1 October 2009, replacing Iain Ferguson. On 16 January 2018 Gerry Murphy, Chairman of Tate & Lyle, announced the retirement of Ahmed effective 1 April 2018, and named current Chief Financial Officer Nick Hampton as CEO designate.[3]
