Pitsea station is a railway station located in Pitsea in the Basildon district of Essex, United Kingdom.

The station was opened in 1856 by the London Tilbury & Southend Railway and is 26 miles (41.8 km) distant on the main line from Fenchurch Street.

The Ticket Office Building:

The new building was opend by Derek Twigg (then Rail Minister) in October 2005. The building houses the Ticket Office, Customer Toilets including a Disabled Toilet and a Retail Unit.

The Ticket Office:

The Ticket Office is open Monday - Friday 05.15 - 22.00, Saturday and Sunday 06.15 - 22.00. It has two serving positions and uses the Tribute Issuing System. Outside the Ticket Office is an Avantix Self Service Ticket Machine.

Train services are operated by c2c.

The typical off-peak service frequency is:

  • 4tph (trains per hour) to Fenchurch Street of which:
    • 2tph call at all stations via Basildon
    • 2tph take the longer route via Ockendon

Pitsea is located on a junction between Basildon railway station or Stanford-le-Hope railway station and Benfleet railway station.

The station is immediately south of the A13 road, and adjacent to a level crossing which gives the main road access to the marshes area south of Pitsea and Basildon.
