Production
It was announced in October 2016 that Tom Hardy would star as Al Capone in Fonzo, which would be directed and written by Josh Trank.[1] Filming was initially eyed to begin filming in the summer of 2017, with Hardy stating it would be released sometime in 2018.[2] Hardy would instead film Venom in that time, and in March 2018 would announce Fonzo as his next project.[3] Later that month, Linda Cardellini, Matt Dillon, Kyle MacLachlan, Kathrine Narducci and Jack Lowden joined the cast, and filming was set to begin on April 2 in New Orleans.[4][5]
