Tarvin was a rural district in Cheshire, England from 1894 to 1974.

It was formed under the Local Government Act 1894 from the Tarvin rural sanitary district. Under the County Review Order of 1936 it lost large parts to Chester Rural District, but also picked up most of the disbanded Malpas Rural District.

It was abolished in 1974 under the Local Government Act 1972, becoming part an expanded Chester local government district.
