Nalin Pekgul, 2007

Nalin Pekgul (née Baksi) (born 1967) is a Kurdish-Swedish Social Democratic politician. She was born in Batman, Turkey. Between 1994–2002, Pekgül was a member of the Swedish parliament. She was chairwoman of Social Democratic Women in Sweden (Template:Lang-sv) 2003-2011.[1] Pekgul is sister to the Kurdish anti-racist activist Kurdo Baksi.

In 2017 she had to avoid her home town, Tensta, because as a feminist, she was threatened by Islamic fundamentalists.[2]
